Fits the description completely, very satisfying.

What can you expect from a 2022 USD wide-angle prime? The lens shoots chic, you can make very beautiful bokeh at an open aperture. Outwardly, even up close, it can becomnfused with the Canon EF 16-35 f / 2.8L II USM. By the way, it looks with Mark2, it is the most harmonious in my opinion)) Unfortunately, it has not yet been possible to shoot beautiful interiors and landscapes (and I think he would have revealed himself in them). But even in those photos that I am attaching, the realism of the…

    Pros
    • Sharp, light (for me, 650 g is not weight), simple as a Kalashnikov assault rifle. Dressed - looked at the viewfinder and everything was bright, as in a magical dream! Focusing (except in difficult situations) is just instant! The build quality is exceptional. I try to find play everywhere, even in details like a bolt from the Bratsk hydroelectric power station, but everything in this lens fits perfectly so that even the focus ring, if you don’t turn it, seems to be monolithic.
    Cons
    • I think the price, if it falls into the list of shortcomings, will be the main one. It distorts a little around the edges, especially if there is a person there, but not critical for such an angle. For some reason, the lens hood is poorly fixed (or unlucky with the copy).

Prior to this, I shot little glass on SHU. Now I have a little experience, I will say that it is much more interesting to shoot on it than on 50mm, for example. The braincomnstantly has to think about how to score a frame and what angle of inclination, you need to remember the horizon all the time. Ideally, this lens is suitable for leisurely shooting from a tripod. A hole of 1.4 allows you to focus manually through the live view at night without any problems and fortune-telling. My post…

    Pros
    • Sharp all over the field on covered apertures. Distortion is not significant. Few hares. Focus speed.
    Cons
    • Vietting. Price.

    Revainrating 4 out of 5

It is of good quality, but I won't buy it again.

Got pros: Made firmly, in a Soviet or Zeiss style. No hares and glare (hood is required!) Sharpness across the entire field. Has some cons The quality of sharpness has not yet been fully appreciated, I will not say that it is ringing. At the widest aperture, focus misses. Tried to adjust - still no ice.

Best thing for the money, glad I did it.

I've been working with him on a reportage for about a year and a half. I shoot on FF. it shows itself worthy in any conditions, but the main thing for which you should love this lens is a picture with aperture. for me, a working diaphragm is 1.8, 2 is already very sharp. only when they say that the lens is not sharp at 1.4, you need to understand that, firstly, this is quite normal due to physical features, and secondly, this can only be seen when viewing a 1: 1 picture, that is, if you know…

    Pros
    • - excellent staff for crop - the picture feels not only not losing, but even pretending to be a better result than 35 1.4
    Cons
    • - this lens is only for those people who understand why they give such money for one focal length. There is nothing to complain about in terms of quality.

    Great product, best quality.

On one trip I took 24 with me as a moderate width, I was very pleased. On the next trip, I took 35 instead of him and only then I felt how much cooler the 24 is. As a result, now the vast majority of my travel photos are taken either on 16-35 / 2.8, or just on this 24 / 1.4 I recommend to buy. Got pros: Good sharpness, nice picture. Rubber skirt to protect the bayonet from rain. Arguably the best lens for urban travel photography; good for food photography. It allows you to blur the…

Im amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

The lens is definitely the best in its category! An excellent wide-angle prime, which is suitable for very expressive portraits, as well as for landscape photography and for staged work. The wide angle lets a lot of space into the frame, and the 1.4 hole gives just gorgeous portrait bokeh! There is absolutely no distortion, as well as chromatic aberrations are minimized, which gives a rich, beautiful picture of the correct pleasant shape. The lens "pulls" the image to the edges, making it…

    Pros
    • Maximum aperture - 1.4 No distortion Very well corrected chromatic aberrations The weight Package contents: lens hood, case available Simply tactilely pleasant glass!
    Cons
    • They just don't exist! This is a top-end glass and reducing the price of the lens to disadvantages is frankly stupid - you need to know what you are giving that kind of money for! And the lens justifies all its investments.

The price/quality ratio is great, I will buy again.

I love it very much for the picture, compared to the first 35L, the very edges are a little sharper. Compared to the first 24L, the edges and aberrations are sharper and more contrasting, but in general the difference is minimal, I used to have the first version. Some pros: Sharpness, contrast, colors, picture! Fast focus. The body is solid and nothing comes out. Does not collect dust. Has some cons The coma is sometimes visible in the corners, like in other fast L (35L 50L).

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

A high-quality product, the price corresponds to the quality.

I use it on 5Dm3, there is an AF adjustment there, so you can adjust the autofocus correction for macro photography. But generally not critical. I suspect that specimens that always hit zero at f / 1.4 and a short distance or not, or they are worth their weight in gold. The depth of field is 1-2 mm. However. I wanted to change it to another one of the same kind and tested 4 different pieces, they all have a floating focus. You test, it hits zero. Then it moves away by a few mm, you introduce…

    Pros
    • Excellent sharpness, color reproduction, minimum distortion. Very nimble
    Cons
    • AF walks, when shooting at f / 1.4 it is very noticeable. It focuses either clearly, or a little closer than necessary. It is especially noticeable on a test piece of paper - then it hits zero, then the focus is closer. A jamb on the open, on a more or less covered one, it falls into the depth of field. There are no problems with interiors and landscapes, but when shooting macro or something close in the open, this moment must be controlled.

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is at the highest level, be sure to try it.

24mm is my favorite focal length for a wide-angle lens - and if I need a solution with this focal length, then I will definitely choose this lens. You can see more photos from this lens in my photo report about the Italian city of Monopoli in my livejournal (they took wide-angle shots where the perspective was not corrected, because on the trip I also used a Canon TS-E 24mm f / 3.5 L II to shoot architecture. However, the difference will be little noticeable except on this basis, because both…

    Pros
    • Undoubtedly, the strength of this undoubtedly excellent lens is its aperture. At such a wide angle, it allows you to achieve very interesting effects. The build quality is monolithic, the focusing speed is instantaneous, perspective distortion is minimal, and at a covered aperture it gives exceptional image quality.
    Cons
    • Given the capabilities of modern editors, there are no weaknesses as such. But if you need complete control over perspective distortion for shooting architecture, for example, it would be better to take the Canon TS-E 24mm f / 3.5 L II, though already without autofocus.

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great quality, happy with it one hundred percent!

This is not my first shirik, there were 35 different ones, there were zooms with a wide angle, but this lens is catchy with its picture. With sharpness, speed, micro-contrast, whatever, Canon knows how to make perfect lenses that become legends. If you want unique shots, learn to shoot at such a wide range, with an open aperture, of course. For professional photographers, such a lens, of course, needs no introduction.

    Pros
    • - ideal standard lens for a crop camera - surprisingly draws the geometry of the frame, everything is perfect, nothing to complain about - on modern mirrorless cameras, Canon just got a new life, even with RP it became much more interesting to shoot
    Cons
    • The lens is expensive. Therefore, I took it used, without any problems you can find an option in perfect condition - the quality of the L-series makes itself felt. Unlike any Olympus, where there is a scratch on a scratch.

The best price for such a product, I will buy more!

Of course, the price tag is horsey, but go to the "optics" and ask the prices of imported glasses, and you will be stunned, there is much more money for the number of optics, besides, there is a lot of such glass on the secondary market.

    Pros
    • The picture is magnificent, gives what you do not expect sometimes.
    Cons
    • In my copy, the squeak of the camera does not at all guarantee either focus or razor sharpness

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am delighted, the product is really worthy.

Of course, at this angle, it distorts people who are on the edge of the frame quite strongly. Pretty strong vignetting, but for this angle it's normal. I can also say that if there is no specific task for this glass, then you should pay attention to the Canon EF 28 f / 1.8. ate: I will reconsider my opinion. At first, the main purpose of this lens was considered shooting in low light. Now I see that, other things being equal (and especially during the day), the picture at 24 / 1.4 looks…

    Pros
    • In this lens, its aperture captivates. Sharper than its zoom counterparts (there are some nuances, but if you wish, you can get into sharpness at least by 1.4). Chromatics is well done. The geometry is perfect, straight lines will always be straight. Beautiful bokeh was a pleasant surprise. And quite unexpectedly - he became a staff member in video filming .
    Cons
    • Space price tag. The lens hood is not fixed and spontaneously unscrews .

Impressive lens suitable for photo lenses

This lens really showed me the difference between L and non-L lenses. I was looking at pictures from a shoot recently and was shocked at the difference in picture quality. I had two pictures taken less than 30 seconds apart; identical settings and locations, but the L lens image was much sharper with nice color saturation and depth. Building on that is amazing. It seems incredibly durable. Very fast focusing and good feeling from my 7D. For anyone who loves primes, this lens is a must!

One lens to rule them all.

Holy Moly. Lifestyle photography, product photography, portrait photography, you name it… this 24mm prime lens is about as versatile (if not more) than my 35mm prime lens. In the last two weeks I have had to take several product photos for a number of watch companies and I am very satisfied with the results. I'll admit there's a bit of distortion, but nothing that can't be corrected in Lightroom. What I love most is that oily f/1.4 aperture…. Oh man the detail and clarity is out of this world…

Used almost every Canon L lens available

Used almost every Canon L lens available Apart from the 200mm f/2.0 I have to say this is my favorite lens. If you want to shoot Prime. The lens is sharp, sharp, sharp. Fully cropped it is sharper than my 50mm f/1.2 and 70-200mm f/2.8 or any other lens I have. Even wide open, 24mm in FF mode is a great focal length for walking. Especially if you are in a crowded place. You can get very close to the subject because the minimum focusing distance is very short. Excellent construction, very solid…

Still beautiful after more than 7 months

I've been using L series lenses for a few years now, from 17-40 f/4L to 135mm f/2L. I currently have a Canon 5D Mark III, Canon 70D, 24-70mm f/2.8L Mark I, 135mm f/2L and this 24mm f/1.4L II. Fixes, zooms, whatever, they're all pretty darn good. However, prime lenses generally have better image quality than zooms in all respects (with some exceptions in the 24-70mm f/2.8L II and, as far as I know, the 70-200mm f/2.8L II), and the 24mm f /1.4L II is no exception. The wide open f/1.4 aperture…

Excellent lens suitable for photography and photography

I bought this lens because I am an artist (painter/artist) and I want to take reference photos. The lens closely mimics the optical properties of the human eye (24mm). With the Canon 5D I can compensate for some of the spherical aberrations that come with wide-angle lenses with the internal Digic4 processor (or you can compensate for all of this with Canon's photo editing software). Some professional models use this lens and swear by it - I usually NEVER look at reviews because I think a lot of

    A great lens

Overall I was very impressed with this lens. I also had a 16-35mm ii and a 24-105mm, all established lenses. I thought it would be interesting to compare them. Unsurprisingly, this lens outperforms both in every respect: image quality, color saturation, distortion, sharpness, chromatic aberration, etc. As it should, considering 24mm is a prime number. or you usually shoot between f/5.6 and f/22, 16-35mm @ 24mm (actually the best place for this lens) pretty well but still little in terms of…
