I was surprised by the quality for this price.

I decided to leave a review on this camera, despite the fact that I sold it a long time ago, but the nostalgia remains, and the camera is still very relevant (if you don’t need to write video in 4K). Before buying a Canon Power Shot G7 X Mk II, I chose for a long time, watched reviews, read reviews. The goal was to buy a camera for filming vlogs (video blog). During use, I managed to shoot a lot of material both in the cold, and in the sauna, and at high speed, and with minimal lighting. I…

Pros
  • 1) Metal body - looks and feels solid in the hands. 2) Rotatable screen is ideal for shooting SELFIE and vlogging 3) The quality of the resulting photos pleases, given the fact that this is still an advanced, but a soap dish. I also have a Canon full frame DSLR. Of course, it makes no sense to compare the quality of photos with it, but I definitely didn’t buy the G7 X as the main camera. 4) The ability to shoot photos in RAW is a great bonus for those who want to bring their own photos to mind. The raw file capabilities of the G7 X are, of course, far from the raw file capabilities of a DSLR, but nevertheless I have often been rescued. 5) Fast lens - as a result, there is much less noise from high ISO in photos and videos. The G7 X can shoot great videos at night with minimal lighting! 6) Video stabilization is great! Filmed at high speed while driving a snowmobile along a forest road - the picture turned out great - even in a movie! But you need to take into account that the stabilization of the camera cuts the video at the edges to remove the "shaking". Therefore, the image coverage is significantly reduced when shooting video. And the stronger you set the stabilization level, the more the picture will be cropped. 7) Touch control from the screen - always right during the shooting, you can poke on the screen and indicate where you want to focus. 8) Microphones record perfectly, but still, when you speak - do not turn away from the camera - the sound immediately "leaves". With strong external noise, you need to turn on the increased noise reduction settings. 9) There is a built-in hidden flash that does not crash when she wants it, and I can use it myself when I need it. 10) In the G7 X Mk II version, it became possible to recharge the batteries via a usb cable without removing the battery from the camera - and that's cool. Given that the battery runs out quickly, you have to do this often and it is much easier to plug the camera into charging from any smartphone with a similar connector.
Cons
  • There are no critical cons. You need to understand for what purpose you take this camera. The quality of photos and videos will never compare with the quality of material from DSLRs. With a strong increase, you see blurry pixels in the photographs, there is no super clarity, the light range is much smaller. But this camera is for other purposes: take it with you in your pocket to take photos without straining with a DSLR. Shoot a perfectly stabilized and balanced video without unnecessary troubles with the settings. By the way, all the settings and lotions in the camera menu are over the roof, but, to be honest, they are hardly needed for the most part in order to spend time studying and setting them up. The video is perfectly shot on the machine, and the photos are easier than two hundred to the mind in the RAW editor. However, there is a main but powerful disadvantage of the Canon Power Shot G7 X - it's a weak battery. The battery size is small, but the screen is huge. And apparently, this screen eats up its charge. If the battery survives 1 day in the gentle use mode, it's already a victory for it . Once the battery let me down powerfully. She was charged a week before the shooting itself, and on the shooting itself she sat down 2 times faster than she should have. In general, even a battery that is simply stuck into a camera without use is discharged - therefore, charge it before shooting, and in general, buy at least 2 spare batteries. The originals cost a lot of money - I recommend ordering analogues 5 times cheaper - there is no difference.

I like everything, the price and quality are acceptable.

The task was to get excellent camera jpegs (without processing in Photoshop and other rav developers) with the quality of a DSLR, for viewing on a computer. if you don’t print a photo, you can safely use iso up to 3200, you won’t notice almost anything on the screen. native noise reduction is just excellent. I chose between Sony, Panasonic in the same class - I did not like their colors. By default, the picture (jpeg) seemed at first a little oversharpened and contrasted (this is adjustable),

Pros
  • bought for travel photo, never regretted it! worth the money for sure. real Japanese, there are no others on the market. the quality of a good DSLR in your pocket, an excellent wide and bright lens - draws a natural and deep picture. natural corporate canon colors. stabilization is beyond praise, there are almost no blurry frames. the touch display is simply unrealistic - everything seems to be small, and the finger has never missed the menu. I shoot mostly in av, and in complex scenes, for the sake of experiment, I turn on the machine - I almost never let me down. therefore, the device is suitable for both pros and amateurs - the shots will be excellent in any case. the device can deploy its own wifi network or connect to another, you can use your smartphone as a remote control and upload photos to your computer over the air, or to the Canon cloud. In general, the device is stuffed to the very end, there is even a built-in level, there will be no more littered horizons. read the review on imaging resource, it is as objective as possible.
Cons
  • still lacking an optical or electronic viewfinder. the swivel display is bright and clear, but in the bright sun it still gets a little blind, there are no miracles ate after 5 months of use: this is not a top mark 5d with a top lens, of course. A little soapy at the edges at a wide angle, but only pixel viewers really see the soap. The average person won't pay attention. Autofocus, it happens that it misses (with whom it does not happen). But there is a solution - to adjust the shutter release by touching the display on the focus object. Kind of, of course, but helps. noticed that P 0 mode puts iso less than AV. So that the device does not bully iso - put it in low speed mode

I like everything, the price and the quality are both ok.

-in the default settings, the contrast and sharpness are overestimated (in my opinion), which immediately caught my eye, and at first it didn’t give me rest until I adjusted these parameters, since absolutely EVERYTHING can be configured in this camera; -I would be happy if there was a wider range of focal lengths, but as I understand it, its increase would most likely affect the quality of the frames; -I bought this camera to replace the CANON G16, and I was afraid that for the sake of…

Pros
  • - ease of use: the camera lies perfectly in the hand, and all controls are in the right places; - touch screen that helps in camera control; - wide angle 24 mm; - quickly focuses and shoots; - the ability to flexibly configure absolutely every parameter; - good indicators of luminosity;
Cons
  • -enough soapy edges of the frame (especially at wide angle); - I would like a larger range of focal lengths; - the battery is a bit weak, but even the most intense shooting is always enough for a day, and you can always charge it between shooting days;

Unsuccessful purchase, I am disappointed.

A soapbox that tries to be cool, but it's very bad at it. Bought for work for cases when a DSLR is redundant. Honestly, I'm very disappointed. I didn't expect such a poor image quality. I understood that an inch matrix is an inevitable loss of quality, but not to the same extent. Even in bright sunlight, the pictures are at the level of a cell phone upon closer examination. ISO 400 is already the edge, then just a catastrophic loss of detail, color and just wild soap. Canon has lagged far…

Pros
  • Small size when turned off. Pretty fast autofocus. It's all. Unfortunately.
Cons
  • 1. Disgusting angular body. No matter how you take it, your fingers stumble upon some kind of corner, a sharp edge, unpleasant material. Very unpleasant tactile sensations. What's the point in that? Did the designers try to make the camera look like old cameras? What for? It would be better if the camera was easy to use. 2. Inconvenient controls. The ring on the lens is narrow, it is inconvenient to turn it. Even if you turn off the clicks, you should not turn this ring when shooting a video, the noise will still be recorded on the microphone. 3. The lens is optically of very mediocre quality. I have a fairly old Canon PRO1. It has the same size matrix, but the lens is an order of magnitude better, although a little darker. 4. Dead battery. If you use the device to shoot video (which is unlikely, of course, see point 5), the battery does not last long. 5. Video is just terrible quality. Very low bitrate, as a result we have soapy soap. You don't need a video like this. 6. Incomprehensibly high price. For what? For this money, you can take either a cropped DSLR, for example, the Canon 750D Kit. Yes, it is larger. But, sorry, it will be a camera that is really nice to take pictures of. I won't even talk about the quality of the photo. Or, if you want more compact, take the same Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II Kit. Not God knows what, but the pictures will definitely be better, the difference will be very clearly visible. 7. Inconvenient screen. He goes blind in the sun. You can’t turn it to the side, you can’t close the screen to the camera so as not to scratch when carrying it. 8. Indistinct Wi-Fi connectivity - nothing at all. What for? Throw on the computer? Yes, I'll quickly take out the card and insert it into the computer. Throw on a mobile phone? My P20 Pro mobile phone takes better pictures.

Cool product, happy with the purchase, maybe Ill buy it again.

In general - a good device. Just carry it with you. I'm tired of carrying one and a half kilograms of 6D + 24-105 everywhere. This one for three hundred grams is perfectly worn in a pocket or a small bag, or a case. For a walk, when you just want to take a picture of a cat, without ultimate quality, it fits perfectly - the quality is excellent for a compact. For a compact device - a lot of possibilities. But sharpness on SLRs is better. But this one is good for its size and price.

Pros
  • Sharpness, aperture, shoots acceptable in the dark - aperture and sensitivity margin are good. Great for an advanced compact. Video is nothing. The touch screen is helpful. RAW. HDR. Lightweight, fits well in your pocket. For trips and walks light - that's it.
Cons
  • Noticeable noises. No water protection. Accidentally, for a split second, he pecked with a corner in the sea - he immediately began to write a memory card error. Although I immediately blew it. It got better after drying. At night it is VERY poorly focused. Even in bright places or light sources. It takes a long time to catch contrasting places. Moreover, even unfocused fotkaet. On the screen, this is hardly noticeable - you can miss it, and all the pictures will be blurry. There is no panorama mode (it's just some kind of archaism - even the phone can already do it perfectly). There is no standard possibility to install a light filter (but you can buy a Chinese threaded adapter for 49 mm filters, glued to the front of the lens).

The product is completely satisfied, performs its functions.

Good time of the day! I chose my favorite to replace the suddenly deceased compact Canon PowerShot G12 from Canon PowerShot G9X, Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100, Canon PowerShot G1X Mark II, Canon PowerShot G5X and even Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II Kit, Fujifilm FinePix X- T10. Each camera has its own shortcomings . no comment. As a result, I chose the Canon PowerShot G7X Mark II, which I am very pleased with. I was very pleased with the quality of photographing the backlight of the night city with…

Pros
  • 1. Well, a very light strong lens. The aperture of the lens, even at the maximum 4x zoom, does not fall below f / 2.8. 2. Matrix 1``(13.2x8.8 mm). The photo quality at 9 MPix is practically the same as at 20 MPix, unless you look at it through a magnifying glass on a computer, so you can save space on the memory card if necessary, almost without loss of quality. 3. Night shooting. there are no words for admiration. Fully working ISO 1600. 4. Optical stabilizer works at 5 points. 5. Autofocus is instant, no misses . at least in my copy. 6. Light weight and very comfortable to hold with one hand. especially after the Canon G12. 7. Management is comfortable and fast. Due to the touch screen, you can select the object for focusing with one touch. 8. The menu is like a “DSLR” . easy to use and at the same time with a “bunch” of settings. 9. Rotatable screen is convenient for SELFIE. 10. "Cool" deflectable flash. 11. The survivability of the battery (1250mAh) is not annoying, because I immediately bought a spare one. But I think that personally two batteries will be enough for me for the whole vacation . for about 500-600 photos. And where more?! 12. Lack of a viewfinder. it's not necessary for me. My former Canon G12 weaned me from using it because of the disgusting review. 13. The lack of a shoe for an external flash . I don’t even use it in a SLR. 14. MADE IN JAPAN. no comment. 15. Video shoot, I'm a little amateur. But I tried. the quality is excellent in 1920x1080 format, especially 50 fps, and 1280x720 is not bad in my opinion. it's still not a video camera. 16. Price. a good product and should be priced accordingly. And if it’s “expensive”, then you don’t need to buy it, and then whine to the entire Internet that it’s “expensive”. It is better to say “thank you” to our “dear” state for such an “expensive”!
Cons
  • After half a year of operation revealed some shortcomings. 1. Although the lens aperture is f / 1.8, the working one starts at f / 4.0. At small apertures, at high magnification, there is slight distortion in the photo. Especially distortions are shown at f/1.8 and f/2.0. 2. Macro photography - soapy soap. You need to have a huge amount of time and iron nerves to achieve at least some more or less acceptable focus.

I am very happy with this purchase, I will advise everyone!

I bought a camera for my parents so that they can take pictures of their grandchildren and take them with them on trips. They always take pictures on the "machine", in jpeg, without processing. The quality of the pictures is very different from the old soap dish and from the photos from smartphones! And another very interesting mode, when the camera shoots video all the time while it is turned on, and saves only the last 5 seconds before each photo, as a result of which at the end of the day…

Pros
  • Photo quality, size, a large number of settings.
Cons
  • Not detected.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am delighted, the product is really worthy.

A very decent device for those who do not have enough smartphones, but do not want to carry a bulky camera. I almost always shoot in manual mode, in jpg + raw formats. Very convenient controls, quickly and easily change the shutter speed, aperture and iso. The capabilities of the lens allow you to shoot beautiful macro with background blur, and landscapes with uniform clarity across the frame. The bright starry sky or the Moon can also be removed from a tripod and in the bulb exposure mode…

Pros
  • High-aperture lens, convenient design, reliability, charging from micro usb, sending photos via wi-fi to a smartphone, compactness
Cons
  • I would like better autonomy

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good and quality product, but there are flaws.

I bought it specifically for a vacation trip to warm countries and, despite the windy and partly rainy weather, the camera did not disappoint. He wore it on a wrist strap at the ready and it really helped to shoot quickly with one hand (stabilizer to help). There was never a desire to bring the viewfinder to the eye, on the contrary, shooting on the screen deflected in the right direction introduced the spirit of reportage, a kind of covert shooting element.

Pros
  • Hi all. 1. Compactness. 2. Rotary screen. 3. Stabilizer. 4. Autofocus and the ability to highlight the focus area by touching the screen, after which the device monitors this area. 5. Good battery life. 6. Timelapse. 7. Fast lens. 8. High-quality shooting with a lack of light (really captures the movement of stars). 9. Satisfactory video.
Cons
  • 1. There is no dust and moisture protection, so it's probably not worth calling it a travel device. Requires care and attention. 2. The impossibility of protecting the lens with a filter and the impossibility of prompt cleaning / purge of the matrix. 3. Weak grip. For safety, it is better to use an additional belt / strap. 4 Clumsy HDR mode.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A wonderful product, its nice to use.

Lightweight, I always carry it with me, and you can put it in your pocket and in your bag . it holds a charge for a very long time . the photos turn out bright, clear. The screen did not fail even in sunny weather. The colors are natural. They don't need post-processing, I like the quality, it's better than a DSLR with a Kit lens. (Loves the level). If you have a choice to buy or not, I advise you to buy, since no phone will give such photos. And you have to pay for good . everyone knows this.

Pros
  • A very good camera. I was looking for what to buy for a long time, after giving up a SLR camera, I chose this one. Before that, there was also Canon, but after the fall of the, I realized that hobby photography is very expensive, all new lenses cost space money. The choice was also in front of Sony M4, and the new Nikon, since I don’t need 4K, and didn’t want to pay twice as much, and Nikon will come out hz. when I bought this camera.
Cons
  • Perhaps the price, I was happier if it was cheaper . As with any other purchase . I was looking for a long time where you can buy it, because everywhere when it appears it was immediately sold out, I don’t know why they sell so few of them . strange .

Absolutely unusable product, not suitable for use.

I will tell you what this expensive toy is for: for taking pictures of yourself at arm's length (the ergonomics are simply disgusting) and for shooting video (only during the day with a lot of light!). Faces turn out well, and landscapes are completely daub. What is smart better? Streaming capability. Much more: cheap, moisture / dust / vapor proof. Much less afraid of falls, bumps, etc. Capable of FAST and discreet shooting. Much more compact, no need for wretched cases from the early 2022s…

Pros
  • Liked the marketing. To foist this weighty piece of lagging trash on the consumer in the age of smartphones. Mark the third turned out even worse, fortunately, I definitely don’t have an extra day for this toy and won’t appear
Cons
  • Weighty, but unstable on flat surfaces. It is very inconvenient to take a selfie. It is inconvenient to hold the device when you shoot yourself for a vlog (there is simply nothing to hold it for). Vertical photo selfies: you see yourself in the display both on the right side and on the left - upside down. (?!) There is no possibility of streaming, but there is absolutely unnecessary software garbage from the end of the 2022s. Small and slow zoom. You could say it doesn't exist at all. In this regard, the smartphone is not inferior to the device, no matter how poor the zoom is implemented on it. The ability to shoot at night: yes, but the quality is frankly poor. The video makes a lot of noise already in the shade, the photos turn out to be ugly: faded and lifeless, like on some small matrix camera from the mid-to-late 2022s. Defective pixels. They are both on the display and on the final video material. Any kind: jumping points, static spots, flying "asteroids" and so on. On my camera, I counted three (!) different (!) dead pixels on the final video image. Sometimes after pressing the shutter button, it does not take a picture. Apparently he's thinking about something. And the moment is already lost. There is no landscape mode. Instead of a landscape soap soap with sucky detailing. The smartphone takes better pictures. In the dark, it loses focus, or does not focus at all. Frankly inconvenient buttons for turning on the device (hidden in the most inconvenient place) and turning on the video (God, it’s not even upstairs on the blogging camera !). Get used to? And why the heck eat this bitter cactus?! Smartphone: shoots no worse, if not better on the head. Even at night. Almost any modern smart for 10-15 sput. Maybe more expensive. For example, necrota in the form of realm 5 pro + gcam. Post-processing: it's everywhere. And on this w7x with its distortions at the corners. One horse-radish drag a photo after this soap tray in a photoshop. On smart, Photoshop is already built-in and much smarter and faster

Best thing for the money, glad I did it.

I have been fond of photography since childhood, with some interruptions. In addition to the subject, I have a Canon 6D with a good fleet of optics and other stray things such as tripods, flashes and other things. Since, firstly, I often travel around 2022 and go on vacation to warmer climes, and secondly, the plots for filming arise suddenly, I wanted something more compact, giving the result as close as possible to the full frame. Well, the GPS tags in the excife, which I was so used to in…

Pros
  • A fast lens with good focal lengths, the size of the matrix, the size of the camera itself. Excellent video quality. Photo in rav. Stub, tenacious autofocus, charging the battery in the camera from usb, software stuffing, a bunch of manual and automatic settings, shooting time-lapses without unnecessary gestures. Touch screen.
Cons
  • No significant deficiencies were found.

Revainrating 1 out of 5

I do not advise buying this, it does not meet the stated standards.

I picked up the device instead of the suddenly deceased Canon G9. I read reviews, looked at examples of pictures and videos. I got acquainted with SONY RX100III as a progenitor. I expected there to be some rough edges, but Canon's expensive compact cannot disappoint. It turns out it can. All the advantages listed above, alas, cannot compensate for the resulting quality, which is obtained due to the peculiarity of focusing and subsequent in-camera processing. The image is really sharp only in…

Pros
  • 1. Compact and lightweight 2. Fast autofocus 3. Lots of settings 4. Touch rotary screen 5. Good optical stabilizer 6. High sensitivity matrix 7. Good colors
Cons
  • Photo and video quality.
