Favorite tracing paper

Canson is my favorite tracing paper. It is the clearest and most durable to withstand many erasures. I use it every day as a layer above the illustration to visualize and plan the values, colors and elements I can add without affecting the actual part. Other brands just aren't as good for this purpose.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Great price

Great for tracing paper, ink and without having to draw guides

Aside from being good tracing paper, the smooth surface also makes it great for brushes. You will find that your tips will last longer if used in place of standard 20 bond paper. Try placing a piece of paper with a grid underneath the tracing paper to give you guidelines for your drawings.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Dear

Great paper for work. Not fat, not thin. It has a very good selection of pens and pencils. I always keep a test page handy as some pens just don't work on this paper but the vast majority of them do. You can create beautiful clear artworks with this paper. Every detail is easily removed from the tablet. Wonderful paper.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Ribbon

Great for tracing paper but not for gluing

Nice and translucent and also strong paper, so a good paper for tracing paper. It didn't work for this use. The paper does not adhere well to the painted canvas and also tends to wrinkle when applied with an acrylic medium. So buy it for the stated tracking purpose. But if, like me, you're still looking for "invisible" paper to attach laser prints to mixed media paintings, this isn't it.

Excellent tracing paper

My favorite tracing paper. Suitable for tracking and transferring projects. You can also make your own transfer paper with this product. Simply rub one side of the paper completely with the pen. Lightly dampen a cotton swab with lighter fluid, then rub lightly over the graphite, working in both directions and in a circular motion to distribute the pencil marks evenly on all four edges. Let it dry and then place it between the tracing paper design and the paper you want to transfer the design…

Pros
  • Canson tracing paper cushion
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

the ultimate best choice for artists.

Canson tracing paper is the clearest I've seen. It's not cloudy or grainy at all, but shines evenly throughout the page. The pen rubs the paper gently, and as long as you hold the paper flat it won't tear or crease. I also have a heavy hand at times, and miraculously I don't indent the paper despite the fact that I'm such a nice translucent tracing paper. Because of this, I often use it for most of my drawings. I also use it to transfer pencil drawings onto watercolor paper and its soft surface

Pros
  • Fifty sheets of 25 pound tracing paper available
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Excellent Calque.

I really like this paper - it's like parchment - strong and flat but fairly translucent and not as stiff as real parchment. Good price! Some tracing paper is too thin, too sensitive to moisture (even fingers), or too weak to stand up to an eraser. This material goes well with an eraser - I can completely erase pencil marks several times with almost no wear. I really love this stuff. For the reviewer who stated that it is no more transparent than regular carbon paper, you must have received a…
