Small enough to carry and also robust

Just arrived yesterday and already painted my first watercolor in it. The paper seems to be of really good quality. The little book is great because sometimes I like to draw while watching TV in bed. It's a lot easier than it looks. I used the wash on paper first and it's a little crooked in the middle, but as it dries it flattens out without curling.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Without automatic

It became my travel book. I always take it with me

This sketchbook was so discounted that although I originally wanted to avoid the spiral in my watercolor projects I bought it anyway. I'm not disappointed. I'm not a watercolor professional, everything I do is based on what I see or find out. The paper can withstand ink work without running on the other side. This is my watercolor book and I take it with me everywhere. There are some warps and creases from heavy washing, but I've found that doesn't happen with my watercolor brushes.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Clarity

Not for layering

I've kept trying to love this paper but it just lets the colors pop easily. I have sooooo many brands of watercolor paper from student to professional. It is by far the most difficult to edit in my drawing style. However, the lifting problem is the most serious. Even after leaving the painting overnight to finish it the next day. A light tap with a nearly dry brush lifted the color from the previous layers to the white of the paper. All I could do was smear, and even then it was difficult not…

Pros
  • Well made
Cons
  • Not sure

Great watercolor magazine

I bought this to paint landscapes outdoors because my watercolor notebook was too big and unwieldy. I've seen a lot of watercolor magazines on YouTube and wanted to try it, but I didn't want to spend $20-30 for a magazine from Michaels (art store). The structure of the paper is the same on both sides. and can withstand a lot of water used on the side. My first page was a little warped but I managed to smooth it out by placing another book over it. There was very little elevation at the edges…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Not as good as it says

I expected more from products for drawing, painting and designing

I thought I would like this watercolor paper but honestly no. It curves and takes on a "U" shape at the first thin stream of water, which my tape has a hard time holding. It beads up after the 2nd or 3rd wash (even with an intermediate blow dryer) and my paint lays on it horribly, the absorbency is uneven and it soaks up water quickly (in the middle of the wash everything was dry on one side and needs to be moistened again, that will rub the paper). Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I…

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • boring packaging

Finally found my favorite watercolor sketchbook!

This is a great watercolor sketchbook! I'd really like to find something between the standard 5.5 x 8.5 and 9 x 12, which seems normal for watercolors. 7x10 would suit me. However, this book exceeded all expectations! I ordered it at the same time as another of the same size and was initially surprised that this one was larger. I found that Canson measures these pages at the perforation line. If you were to rip them out, the size listed (5.5 x 8.5) would be what they would be once removed…

Pros
  • Heavyweight cold-pressed watercolor paper, made in France.
Cons
  • Slightly torn.

Thought I'd like Canson paper . I'm poor, it's cheap. The match is made in heaven, right? I would love to, but this is the third type of paper I've bought from the Canson brand and it will be the last. Canson XL watercolor paper is pretty bad, but it has its uses (brush strokes, scraps of paper, color swatches and blending) so it's a great purchase as practice paper so I figured it should be a real step up. Unfortunately, this isn't enough to justify the price difference between the Canson…

Pros
  • 20 sheets 140lb/300g 5.5" x 8.5" acid free paper
Cons
  • Available in white only

We draw newbies who bought this notebook to facilitate all the work we've done while social distancing and we are very happy with it! Here are the highlights: * QUALITY: The quality of the paper is excellent. The pages are very dense and the design from one sheet does not smudge onto other sheets. To prolong the life of the notebook, we found that we could draw on both sides of each sheet after the first page was completely dry. No complaints about the paper itself. *SIZE: We bought a 5.5" x…
