Description of Cardone 13-2965 Upgraded Brake Master Cylinder

Only O.E.-quality seals and cups are used to ensure O.E. performance and reliability. All rubber components meet S.A.E. specifications. Bores meet critical micro-finish specifications to eliminate pitting and corrosion, a cause of premature failure. Castings feature a premium protective coating to minimize corrosion and extend unit life. Seals are temperature-cycled from -30°F to +220°F to ensure reliable performance during your daily commute and plastic reservoirs are vacuum-tested to ensure they are leak free. Mounting hardware and bleeding kits are supplied with every unit to make the installation and bleeding process faster and easier (where applicable).

Failed in just 14 months!

Be careful. After my Cardone failed I checked the replacement warranty, although this product is listed as 'new' the description says it was mostly remanufactured by their engineers. The original Toyota part lasted 12 years and theirs failed after 14 months.

Master cylinder is excellent.

I thought the exact specification is the same as the original. I have to take it off again because the brake pedal is too low (1.5" free travel). I need to adjust the brake booster plunger to the master cylinder to reduce brake pedal play. The rest of the master cylinder is excellent.

Pros
  • Brake system
Cons
  • Some small things

Make sure you buy a master cylinder made in Japan!

My brakes were spinning and I knew it was the master cylinder. I bought it without thinking that the part was made in China. Well I put a spare in my Camry 04 car which didn't help my brakes because they keep hitting the floor! Because the item is from China. I was told the part must be from Japan as they make Toyota.

Cons
  • Only available in black
