Pump Error: Steering System

After checking all parts of my system, I found that the pump had indeed failed. It should be a "new" pump, not a rebuilt one. I decided to restore my old one for about $10. No hard work.

Pros
  • Hands Free Operation
Cons
  • No Power

Some junk best replacement

Works but whines when accelerating this is a replacement they sent me for a faulty one and I am not happy with it and want my money back . Whether this will last long is questionable as it only gets worse over time.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Not as thick as the others

Very noisy - power steering

Works as a power steering pump, but howls heavily. I haven't tried synthetic oil, but I used what the manufacturer recommends. It was sold new, I doubt it would make that noise if new. I would not buy again.

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

All noisy pump reviews were correct

This supposedly new power steering pump is noisier than a rebuilt pump from my local parts store. I called support and they took me to a technician who asked how it was installed. The pump was installed in an auto repair shop that had previously installed thousands of pumps. If I were you I would skip this pump and save your money for something better.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • old

Fits good; works perfectly.

I ordered this new pump to replace my original 96 Dodge Ram 1500. The original pump still worked perfectly but had 354,000 miles on the odometer. As a mechanic, I just didn't want to risk it failing outside of town. The part fitted perfectly, but I also installed a new pressure line, also to the liquid cooler. Don't whine or run. A good product. My model requires power steering fluid, NOT ATF4. Remember. I chose Lucas power steering oil.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Good but not great

Works perfectly! on parts

I bought this to replace the original power steering pump on my 2500 '99 Dodge Ram pickup that stopped working properly after 105,000 miles. I just installed it today and did some truck driving so can't speak to long term reliability, but it worked great after my amateur installation, which in itself is almost a miracle. With that in mind, here's my advice to other amateurs who are considering it. DIY Project - Think long and hard before attempting this. Anyone who tells you it's a light breeze

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Zero
