I followed the instructions to charge the battery properly - more than once. However, there was never anything other than a faint, flickering yellow light. These are medical instruments. It is not possible to use a tool that is not working properly. I sent it back. I do not recommend you try this if you need to use an otoscope.

I'm very glad this battery works in my otoscope and it's a lot cheaper than the Welch Allyn 72200. First test. I don't use my tool very often, so I'll leave this battery; but I would like to warn future customers about this issue.

Be sure to check which battery your model requires. Mine uses a battery that looks more like a regular AA battery with a positive and negative terminal on each end. This battery in the form of a +positive pole at the top and a +positive pole at the bottom, the -negative pole is actually a protrusion that comes out of the bottom edge and folds up on the side.
