Poor quality fittings

The frame is strong enough but the fittings (bolts etc.) are cheap. I installed everything and her mother wouldn't accept the last carriage screw. So a 15 minute job turned into 2 hours including a trip to Lowe's plus $. I just wanted a spare tire without a headache! Also, someone else mentioned it. The frame bolts were too long for my application. I could shorten them with a cutting tool.

Very Durable: Spare Tire Brackets

is well designed, designed for all types of cargo trailers. There are different installation instructions for different types of trailers. Almost universal fit. additional washers and screws for different types of attachment. should also fit trailers from other brands. The key is to use the best attachment method for your trailer type. Fits well and snugly on me. I mounted mine on top of the tongue and it fitted perfectly into its position, if you bought a smaller trailer it could be mounted…

Exactly what I need for my caravan.

I have a Karavan 5x10 trailer with dropsides and tubular rails. It was one of the few replacement holders I've come across that had U-bolts for mounting on a round surface rather than a square or rectangular one. The bracket finish was poor so I lined it with rustoleum along with the bolt (perfect for my trailer rails). Not sure what the other reviews were talking about in terms of the wrong hardware. All the nuts fit perfectly and the size of the nuts is the same as the 19mm jam nuts so I only

Did the job!: Spare wheel mounts

I decided to do a small project; Convert a 5' x 12' enclosed cargo trailer into a 1-2 person camper. I needed somewhere to mount the spare part outside of the trailer. I looked around and settled on this one as it proved to be quite durable. I tried mounting it on a trailer tongue but the tongue was too short. There is no rear bumper, but I wanted to attach it to the ramp's tailgate. Even with the door low, there wasn't enough room to hold the tire without getting in the way of the ramp. I…

Wrong details, lack of support do more harm than good.

There are countless other busbar supports to choose from, it couldn't be worse. This was due to a lot of wrong bolts, specifically the bolts that hold your rim, 1/2-13 instead of 1/2-20 so you can't use a nut to loosen the rim from the bolt and the short threads bite into the rim much faster, destroying your spare before you ever need it. The extra long mounting bolts that come with the kit can only be used to allow thieves to easily remove the entire boot if you install some sort of locking…

Screws too long for corner rail mounting

Product looks solid and well made. I bought it for a carry on trailer with angled iron rails. Multiple holes, etc. make installation easier. I bought this mount as it specifically stated it would fit a trailer with angled iron rails. That's true, but the studs protrude a good inch from the inner bracket. So if you're loading something with rubber/fiberglass hoops or beads, there's a good chance that what you're transporting will get punctured. I will have to buy shorter screws. Second, since…
