I have ordered 4 of these for my grandchildren aged 18 months, 2, 4 and 6 years. They were all huge hits and are still played to this day. The older boys love the adventure aspect and pretend to be looking for dinosaurs and bears. They are Dino Dan fans. The younger ones will love binoculars, a flashlight (not too bright as to hurt their eyes) and whistles.

Bought for my 3.5 year old granddaughter and she loves it. A nice little exploration set for all those adventures little kids need to go on to stimulate their imaginations. The compass works adequately and is a great compass for beginners to learn how to use properly. Instructions for proper use are packaged with the training kit. The Carson Adventure Pak is a great birding kit for kids. 5x30 binoculars that are good for bird watching and for kids. Less magnification means less "handshake" and a more stable image. Also, these binoculars are smaller, which is good for young hands. Most of the items in this adventure set feel solid and well made. The binoculars cable is flimsy but seems durable.
