I broke two of them trying to install them. My fault DO NOT FORCE INSERT! I pasted the first one and it moved a bit. damaging the dowel pins. When I tried to fix the pins it got even worse. the second is the same. the third competed as champion. Insert it and then move it up/down while slowly turning the latch. If it doesn't turn off and the collar is tightened, you've missed it. Hope that helps.

Worked as a replacement for a Pegasus shower valve that was leaking and was probably in there for over 12 years. I haven't found any other replacement parts anywhere, not even on HD where it seems the original was bought by the previous owner. Can't say the design is great but it was better than replacing the entire shower unit. If it continues like this for 10 years, I'll be satisfied.

Replaced this one and another Danco I had to replace for free under warranty. It's a cheap POS, almost all plastic, and won't last long. The original had a plastic break around the rear seal that caused a leak so I went with this one. Fully expect it to happen again. The other unit I replaced under warranty was actually metal and a much stronger plastic. The only positive thing is that it's dirt cheap so changing it every 10 years wouldn't be such a bad thing.

This mixer valve was perfect for my shower faucet (which I think is a glacier bay). I've seen several reviews that it doesn't mix properly and only gets cold water. Convinced of this myself, I looked at the valve and found "-.+" on the red cap (which I admit I missed at first). Gently pull the red cap and adjust the "+” position, which allows the handle to rotate more toward the hot side. Cartridge has 2 alignment pins that must fit into 2 holes in the valve body. The new one didn't fit. I carefully cleaned the holes with descaler and scraped off the remaining minerals with a knife. The cartridge still does not fit. Then I filed the plastic pins several times until they fit the holes. 2 hours x 20 mins work. The cartridge works perfectly, does not leak. Was hoping to do it myself but had to hire a plumber. I didn't have the tools to take the cartridge out. And then. was told that I needed the same part with a longer, what I think it's called "needle". My Glacier Bay shower faucet was purchased from HD circa 2015 and is no longer used. After removing the bezel and grip I saw the brass end sticking out - the grip needs that long pin to connect and if I looked closer I could figure it out. Above all, it stopped the slow dripping in the shower. However, this was not an exact replacement for the Glacier Bay cartridge. It has a much wider range of knob movement (which could theoretically result in more precise temperature control). The temperature limiter (which I removed anyway as only adults use the shower) is different from what is shown in the photos (and the original part) and doesn't seem to fit properly in the hood.
