Don't rely on Wayne's guarantee! They will not vouch for their product!

The pump worked well until it failed after 18 months of use. Of course, it's a pity that it didn't work out, but it can happen. I sent it back to Wayne as a warranty claim which should be covered by the 5 year pump warranty. Sent a non-working pump back to Wayne and now they claim the pump is somehow outside of their warranty. All information was provided by them as requested. Just a generally disappointing impression! The pump worked fine when it worked, just don't rely on Wayne warranty…

Manufacturing defect unrecoverable

Purchased WAYNE CDU980E 3/4 HP submersible pump. Cast iron and stainless steel with built in vertical float switch and Square Trade 4 year overhaul protection plan. After installation, it turned out that the pump does not work at full capacity as described, a top occurs in the well because the water is thrown back. If they call customer service and describe the problem, they want us to send the pump back to the manufacturer for inspection at the customer's expense. By then, the customer will…

Don't buy junk, the warranty sucks. The pump is junk.

I bought this one and upgraded 1/2hp to 3/4 because my last one failed after 10 years why not upgrade. Nothing has changed, only the check valve works, everything else is normal. Worked for 6 months and broke. Contacted the company and had to fight tooth and nail to get a replacement. Here I am 8 months later and the pump failed again. I'm glad I didn't trust him and bought a new pump because as soon as it failed the high water alarm went off, I ran down the stairs, swapped out the pump for my…

Excellent pump, the main thing is not to overdo it. Stick with what works!

Without a doubt this is a great pump! Quiet, pumps water quickly, easy to install. I don't need to repeat that, just read the other reviews! HOWEVER, DO NOT oversize by replacing an existing lower powered pump with this unless your existing pump has the capacity. Especially if you have another drain connected to the same plumbing as the pump. I replaced the old pump with a 1/4 hp. (see attached photo, it's at least 20+ years old!) for this 3/4 hp. Wayne and thought what could go wrong! Coming…

Solid pump, thoughtful design

Received yesterday (via Sunday Prime delivery) along with Campbell's silent sump check valve, pulled out old pump and installed this with no problems. My 5 year old Zoeller 1/2 HP was on a short cycle and I knew the end was near. While I can't yet comment on the life of this pump as it's only been in the quarry for 24 hours, I'm impressed with the solid construction and design, which has the pump suction port positioned just enough above the base to prevent fine gravel in front the intrusion…

Doesn't last long and Wayne's guarantee is free

I purchased this item on 10/2/2017 and it failed on 4/25/19. I checked the pump last night during a rainstorm because I heard my backup pump turn on. Wayne's pump failed, burning the exhaust port before failing completely. When I pulled it out of the sump to replace with a spare pump, the entire pump literally fell apart. The 3 screws that hold the body together have completely rusted through in a year and a half. I called Wayne's warranty service and got a message saying the warranty is void…

A horror story with a happy ending, courtesy of Wayne Sump Pump!

I recently bought a 95% renovation in Chicago. The plumbing that was done is phenomenal so I was quite surprised to find 1/2 inch of water in half of my newly renovated basement after our first summer flood last month. I uncovered the sump and in fact it was completely full. I fished my hand in the water until I found the float and shook it a few times which eventually caused the pump to turn on. He drained the pool and drained the water that had accumulated in the suction pipes, leaving me…
