I bought this one and upgraded 1/2hp to 3/4 because my last one failed after 10 years why not upgrade. Nothing has changed, only the check valve works, everything else is normal. Without a doubt this is a great pump! Quiet, pumps water quickly, easy to install. I don't need to repeat that, just read the other reviews! HOWEVER, DO NOT oversize by replacing an existing lower powered pump with this unless your existing pump has the capacity.
