Pyle Home 8 " Wall Speaker

This is a good speaker, especially for the price. It was perfect for what I needed at the time, replacing the driver in a 1927 RCA Radiola speaker. Due to the price I wasn't expecting the highest quality on the market, but I got a decent speaker, I'm sure it would sound better if I actually wall mounted it, built in, is detachable and NOT covered the back of the speaker. It uses the wall as a large soundbar to boost the bass. When mounting in a wall, it would be a good idea to add insulation…

Effective but sound quality could be better.

The high efficiency of these loudspeakers facilitates operation. I use a 1W TDA2822M chip which gives them enough power. The grill is beautiful and easy to install, although removing the grill is quite difficult. In my ears, the sound quality is barely audible out of the box. The thin plastic case severely distorts the sound. Even watching YouTube was painful. Since mine was in the attic I was able to reuse some of the 1.5 cu ft MDF cabinets I had. I bought 8 of them in 2010 for my new finished basement and installed them myself. Installation is very simple and the speakers are easy to connect as they come with spring terminals. Here's the problem: these are voice-class speakers at best. There's nothing wrong with them in and of themselves, they just aren't good for the music.
