A complete waste of time and money

I sent my husband to Best Buy to get me a better apple peeler that would not hurt my arthritic hands. After reading the reviews and looking at handles he settled on this and paid for second day air. A complete waste of $20. It does fit my hand better but I had to stop after every cut and remove the peel. After making about 4 cuts I threw it across the room and went back to my old style peeler. It may be easy for young people to change the blade but it took me many swear words and 20 minutes to…

Pros
  • Ergonomic handle ensures a comfortable grip
Cons
  • The blade may not be adjustable to different cutting depths

Nowhere near as good as the Kyocera version. :-(

I'm so disappointed in this peeler! I already have a Kyocera ceramic blade peeler and it works so smoothly and peels so thinly that it feels like magic. distinctly superior to any previous peeler I ever used.I liked the shape of the Cestari peeler and thought that the pointy top would be useful for removing potato eyes, so I bought three of them- one for me and two for gifts.Sadly, the Cestari peeler is inferior to the Kyocera. The peel that it removes is much thicker. maybe that's why it…

Pros
  • No need for sharpening like metal peelers
Cons
  • The ceramic blade may be less effective for peeling tough or fibrous vegetables

didn't work for me

didn't really work for me. couldn't vary the depth of the peel with pressure. went back to the older steel one. The ceramic blade may require more skill to use effectively!

Pros
  • Can be used for peeling fruits as well
Cons
  • The ceramic blade may require more skill to use effectively

not a very good product. Peelings hang up in the slot and have to be shanken or pulled out and not nearly as sharp as the off the rack cheapo stainless steel peeler, I've been using, for the last three years, I bought at Safeway. The handle is nothing special ether. Don't waste your money!

Pros
  • EASY CARE AND LIFETIME WARRANTY: Single piece handle has no seams to harbor food particles; dishwasher safe for easy cleaning; Return for replacement at any time, for any reason, no questions asked. BONUS: Receive FREE ebook, "How to Select Fresh Vegetables," with purchase (See ASIN B00KR11L00 for more information on the book)
Cons
  • takes off way too much yes it is sharp

Broke on first use good for me

This broke on the first swipe of the vegetable. I tried to email the company and still haven't heard back. I am sad because the reviews were good, which is why i bought it in the first place. If the company had responded and replaced it I would have been fine too. However, no response and a broken peeler is negative all the way around. :(

Pros
  • Reduces food waste by efficiently peeling vegetables
Cons
  • The ceramic blade may not hold its edge as long as metal blades

New title: The Worst Vegetable Peeler

Absolutely terrible! The picture gives the false impression the blade is stable, which it is not - it constantly flexes. It also has no directions in how to flip the blade as it is turned in the wrong direction. The blade constantly has the peelings getting stuck in the blade and you have to continuously rinse which increases prep time considerably. I've gone back using a knife to peel. I do not recommend at all.

Pros
  • Great for people with arthritis or hand pain
Cons
  • The peeler may not work well on smaller or thinner vegetables

Not my first choice

I had trouble adjusting to this peeler. I did reverse the blade which was difficult, but I wanted to peel right handed toward my body. I was peeling apples & found that my old metal peeler was easier to use for that.

Pros
  • Reduces kitchen clutter by eliminating the need for multiple tools
Cons
  • The peeler may be more difficult to use on wet or slippery vegetables

Comfortable in my hand

Love it even though it's a one-directional vegetable peeler. It doesn't matter to me because I peel in one direction only and not back and forth. The handle is comfortable and it's much better than the old fashioned cheap metal ones that I used to use. I'm new to ceramic for cutting and I'm impressed. It peels smoothly and easily. I like that it's dishwasher safe too.

Pros
  • Leaves less waste when peeling vegetables
Cons
  • The ceramic blade may not be as effective for creating decorative cuts or designs

Waste of money: my feedback

Waste of money. The blade is sharp but it is flimsy and the depth of cut is too thick, it always gets stuck partially thru a cut. Maybe I got a bad one or defect, not sure. It just sits in the back of the drawer and I use my old metal peeler instead.I have used different ceramic blade utensils with great results. It's been a while since I bought this unit so I didn't bother returning or exchanging it, my fault.

Pros
  • Helps create consistent vegetable slices for cooking
Cons
  • The handle may become slippery when wet

The Best Veggie Peeler I've Ever Owned.

I've been using the Pro Peeler fore several months now, and I am as happy with it now as I was the day I got it. My daughter frequently helps me with dinner prep and it is the ONLY peeler she will use. It's sharp, and only takes off a thin layer of peel, so there's very little waste. It is a pleasure to use!

Pros
  • It works
Cons
  • Does not peel very well

Finally! I can throw out that lousy Y-shaped peeler

A thousand years ago, my grandmother gave me a peeler like the one she had used for years. It was straight, not Y-shaped, with a sharpened scoop tip for digging out potato eyes, and a bean slicer at the other end. I used that peeler until it was as dull as a spoon. Then I bought a new peeler, the amazing new ergonomic Y-shaped design.I hated the new one. I couldn't find a comfortable way to hold it, and it slowed me down a lot. It also made my wrist hurt. I kept using the old one, but finally…

Pros
  • Comes in a set of 2 for added convenience
Cons
  • The color options may be limited and not appealing to all consumers

Quick way to add vegetables to my protein shake

I used the Pro Peeler to peel vegetables to add to my protein shake. I just peeled zucchini, carrots, and cooked corn on the cob right into the blender on top of the other ingredients. These thin vegetable pieces were easy to incorporate into the shake. It was quick and healthy too! I'm planning on using the peeler with potatoes to create a quick version of baked scalloped potatoes - the thin slices should take less time than a traditional recipe to bake.

Pros
  • Perfect for those with small hands
Cons
  • The peeler may need to be replaced more often than metal peelers
