Good item and right price

The dealer wanted to charge me $65 to replace the cabin air filter. Hourly wage is $150. Forget it. The auto parts store had a cheap $20 device with no foam strips. This item arrived quickly, looks great and smells clean and after watching a youtube video on installation there was nothing in it. I saved over $45. Great offer.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • New Competitors

The air coming out of my vents smells so clean and fresh now

This filter was a good replacement. My air conditioning vents are breathing clean, fresh air again. If you used to smoke in the car and have stopped smoking, then replacing the cabin filter is a very good idea. It is usually located behind the glove box or on the passenger side under the dashboard. Check your car's owner's manual or search the internet for instructions on how to access your old one.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Available in black only

Good value for money. for spare parts

It seems to filter out exhaust fumes and other unpleasant odors on the road well, but you still smell it from time to time. Seems well done. The filter appears to be thicker but with fewer wrinkles than the standard paper filter that came with my Ford Focus. There's no noticeable difference in the amount of air coming out of the vents, so I don't think it's restrictive enough to overwhelm an HVAC system. Good

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Smell good for spares

Got this for my Focus RS. There are some good DIY videos on YouTube so I followed them. A NOTICE. If you don't have a T15 screwdriver, you'll need one. I bought a Stanley 60-011 Torx screwdriver and it works great. I magnetized the end so the screw wouldn't fall into the ground - ever. The work itself is PITA as everything is under the dash. Need lots of light and be flexible. My RS smelled disgusting when started. The new filter eliminated that.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Not automatic

I couldn't get rid of the dog smell

In the summer when I had the air conditioner on, I could smell this overwhelming dog smell. I suspect the previous owners had that. I thought this filter would eliminate that, but it doesn't. It wasn't as strong anymore, but I could still smell it. The filter I took out was disgusting. Maybe it had been there so long that the smell would only linger, but I was still a little disappointed. One of the reasons I chose this filter was because it was a fresh air filter, but you wouldn't know that.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • High price

Difficult to install but great air quality

I have been using these filters in my Ford Focus ST and my mother's Mazda 3 for a number of years. Difficult to install as it is not as flexible as the OEM paper filter. But once you install it, it will be very comfortable to be in the car. No smelly diesel exhaust bothers my nose. You should replace it at least once a year as it gradually loses effectiveness due to chemical rather than physical protection. My Ford had a Tesla-like HEPA filter, but its size and Ford's air pump capacity are…

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Replacement available
