Strong as a rock. Great steel. For those who don't make sense and rated them under 5 for keeping them outside and they start to rust, get the key! It's not stainless steel, it's hardened carbon steel, so they've been cutting through materials like they're supposed to for years. Try to coat them only once with an oil/rust remover like Ballistol when they are brand new and they will never rust. Excellent company, great products. For people who shop at Revain, you MUST read reviews, don't just…
Rough workmanship, but very effective. I had to screw in about 50 drywall screws with it, no problem. They cut wire and cable just fine, but are not intended for an electrician's job in my opinion. Ideal for pulling nails, staples, cotter pins and screws. Long reach and lots of leverage. Great in the garage. These are very good wire cutters, but I wouldn't recommend them as basic side cutters for an electrician as they are not sharp and their ergonomics are not suited to an electrician's…
I am buying these 447s as gifts for my whole family when they are learning to maintain their own homes. They are so versatile and offer great mechanical advantage when cutting as well as a secure grip on stubborn nails and staples when they need to be removed. The offset jaws are my favorite feature. The more you use them, the more you realize the power they offer to the user of the tool. However, I have noticed significant changes in the fit, finish, and jaw shape of these "must have" tools. I
This purchase was made to get a second set of these large dams for use in our second home. I've had a pair for 20 years and they are my tool of choice for quite a number of jobs. They obviously cut wire and are big enough to cut through a larger electrical cable without being too big and heavy. I have found that the smaller cables are too small for the larger cables. However, my other common use is pulling out small nails and staples. They are excellent for this application. The points are…
I've had a pair of these for over 25 years and they still haven't worn out until I cut the power line. Ouch! I love the extra jaw curve on this particular channel lock pliers. Not only are they the ideal tool for general electrical work, they are also GREAT for pulling narrow crown rods, nails and staples giving you the leverage and reach you need. If I only had a pair of wire cutters, these would be them. After 25+ years of work and home use, the plastic on the handles was still in pretty good
Just received these because a parasite stole my old Stanley dams. The Stanleys were 7-1/2" so a little smaller, but still a good pair of pliers. As good as the Stanleys are, these 9-1/2" beasts are a step up. I just got some steel bars and Disassembled sheet metal that is riveted together. At first I wanted to drill out 1/4" rivets, and then I remembered my new dams. Let me try! These things ripped off the tops of the rivets like butter and bent the sheet metal with ease The arched jaws really…
I used to have two of these items. loved her. My first pair was raised by a worker about 10 years ago and I immediately replaced them with an identical pair. Surprisingly, I use these Channelloch 447 cutters for so many different daily chores here on my Virginia farm that I carry them in my shoulder bag to every chore. Mine are still going strong 10 years later. I also have a pair of more typical NON-CURVED Channellock side cutters. Their quality is excellent but this pair is in my power tool…
