A handy tool when nothing else works

I liked that they were made in the USA. I find the larger model more practical than these two sizes, but these were for my daughter and fit better. The plastic cover felt a bit cheap/thin compared to my larger channel locks, but decent quality for the money. A handy tool when nothing else works.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Compatibility

Nice and strong with a good feeling that you are squeezing

The force of the pliers is enough that I can damage a tightened nut, not through shearing force. In the end, the ratchet was better than this tough nut. But I am impressed by the power of the pliers. The ending isn't bad, that's why I only give it 4 stars. You weren't that pretty. So 5 stars for performance and 3 stars for beauty if that really matters.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Older model

The rubber coating had a terrible smell.

When I took these tongs out of the box (which was difficult to open) they smelled awful; I almost got sick! I put them on a shelf in the garage and didn't touch them for a couple of weeks. The smell was gone now. Shortly thereafter I had to replace the filling valve in the toilet. The pliers worked fine. I only use tools around the house as needed so I expect these pliers will last quite a while.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Price to break a piggy bank

Complete GARBAGE in power and hand tools

I've been using channellocks for years. always insisted as they were consistently reliable. My pair, which I've been using for 16 years, started to stick, I kept tightening the nut so they wouldn't stick. This new couple. Allegedly, after two weeks of use, the nut does not need to be tightened, it began to clamp. We give back this garbage. Don't trust the lifetime guarantee. at least before you read the terms on the ChannelLocks website. Total disappointment in quality.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Speed of work

Worth it, WARNING SHARP EDGES

They work really well and are definitely worth the price, but: - Quality control on them is really lacking in the SECURITY department. I almost cut my hand when I received my pair! As I held them, my finger ONLY crossed the slide bolt channel and it started cutting me. I stopped and took a closer look. IT WAS ACUTE. I wondered why blocking a channel would allow a product with its name to appear to its customers in this way. ***** CHOOSE YOURSELF TO BLOCK THE CHANNEL DUE TO THE LACK OF SECURITY…

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Tradable

Best value for money

Bad: I wasn't pleased to see rust spots and stains right out of the box but that wasn't enough to stop me giving it 5 stars give . My other complaint was that the 6-inch pair was initially stiff to get them to slide back to their tightest position, but that faded the more I used them. Good: Undoubtedly, they are worth every penny. If you use these and other Channellocks pliers every day you can rest assured that they are better than local retail brands and don't cost much more. When it comes to

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Fairly ok

Trusted brand of tongue and groove pliers

Can you buy pliers cheaper? Yes! Are they as good or better than Channellock? no If you've ever used cheap tools, you know that they're cheap the moment you pick them up, and especially when you try to use them. The handles of multi-tooth pliers should never spring (deform) under load. The hand grips must never slip off the handles and must not rotate. Because of this, channel blocking has earned its excellent reputation for not deforming with normal use. Here you get what you pay for.

Pros
  • STRONG 90 degree hardened teeth for excellent grip and durability
Cons
  • Other interesting options are available.

No quality control!

I love the strength of these channel locks. The only thing that disappointed me when they arrived was the constant aesthetic imperfections shown in the photos. However, it will never be entered into the instrument pageant and its features will not be compromised, so I'm keeping them. It's too much hassle to change them anyway. The value at this price is amazing compared to Knipex pliers. I would recommend buying these, but be aware that needle nose and grooved pliers have their limitations…

Pros
  • FORGED carbon steel for maximum strength and durability with a special coating for maximum rust protection.
Cons
  • No power

Original! for pliers

These are the classic multi-tooth pliers. I've been at this as long as I can remember and I'm not young. They are still high quality, made in the USA and still considered one of the best. I have had several brands of these types of tongs including several Craftsman versions and while some Craftsman tongs are very good they come and go because they are made by different manufacturers and are now difficult to find and the return process is a pain when not - now available. There are some good old…

Pros
  • UNDERCUT tongue and groove does not slip off
Cons
  • so far so good
