Description of Charger Doctor: USB Tester & Multimeter for Solar Panel Chargers & USB Devices - Troubleshooting Tools and Battery Monitor

A simple little diagnostic tool.Functions well to monitor battery charging status. Shows volts supplied and amps drawn. Answered a few questions of your own as to why some devices charged better than others. Great little digital multimeter for testing voltage/amps output and power draw for usb-driven devices. Easy to read, helps identify which chargers put out the most charging current. This does do the trick for trouble shooting. This foolproof usb meter has been a real benefit in sorting phones, cables and wall warts adapters into how well they are working for each of these apple devices. Are they capable of supplying adequate power. A very handy USB power monitor to have around for checking both Vdc and the current a USB device would draw with re-charging and go to zero when fully charged. Unlike other USB multimeter, which displays voltage and current in alternate mode and you have to wait for the other mode. This device displays both voltage and current simultaneously!.

Serves its purpose in a voltage tester

The reading always seems to be facing away from you. It is possible to make the connector swivel. Difficult to read, needs backlight. Otherwise a good tool to have on hand.

  • Handy item
Cons
  • Safety

that's cool. This one doesn't have a mode button

The display is big and bright. If you just want basic info, volts and amps, that's great. There is no mode button here. Thus, power consumption over time or minimum/maximum fluctuations are not displayed. only what you see. There are 2 USB ports, which is very convenient.

Pros
  • One year trial

Not what I thought about the tester

I have a problem with the USB-C connector I was looking for something that would give me an indication of whether the connector is a Link. It's not like this. It tells you if the P/S is working and how much current the connected device is drawing, but that's not what I need. Guilty. If you're concerned that your device is drawing a lot of power, I can see what that is telling you. Next to?

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design

Elegant simplicity.

Sometimes you just need to know E and I. You have to find out the rest yourself. And with that, you can watch the milliamps (mah for those who don't know what they're talking about or what they're for.) go down to zero and then the charge indicator on all my devices goes out. Engineer and I don't work in IT. I didn't get it for free or any other reason. Can I recommend it? Absolutely and unconditionally. PS My apologies to everyone who was offended by my "Makhov" comment. I'm old and I feel…
