Simple and easy to use

This stand is strong enough for my XXL Tomtom GPS on a curved dashboard. The anti-slip pad is strong enough to resist silicone plastic and provide good visibility without interfering with the screen view.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Fair

Nice facility. in car mounts

I was struggling to get the center section into the plastic ring. I first had to remove the metal ring inside the plastic ring, then I was able to put it in place. Then I installed the metal ring back into the plastic ring. Then this is the perfect setting. I use TomTom XL 350 and 540. Very happy with it.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Not sure

Doesn't always get the job done.

While it may just be the kind of car you put it in, I found it very limited and basically stopped using it. Depending on the shape of your dashboard, this thing often doesn't protect itself very well and moves in traffic or moves completely. We've used it with my tom-tam on 3 different machines and while it worked better on some than others it never worked very well.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Secret

Doesn't work as expected.

Bought this mount for a brand new car. So my dashboard was really clean and dust free when I put it back in place. However, that didn't stop the mount from sliding back and forth while driving on New Jersey's imperfect but perfectly normal freeways. Also the ring used to fix the GPS itself is very bad and my GPS was disabled and fell to the second floor. once when I got into very small road holes. Left it to his wife, who drives slowly and only on local roads. But I will never buy it for trackโ€ฆ

  • A dream come true

Suitable alternative to suction cup mounts

I prefer to use the dashboard mount for my TomTom XXL 550M. The mount I first bought used the suction cup that came with the unit and like other TomTom reviewers I can't say I was completely satisfied. The suction cup fails from time to time, causing the GPS to fall off the dashboard and scaring me while driving. This dash mount works much better because the mounting arm is an integral part of the product. Pros for me: (1) It does what it's supposed to do, and by that I mean it keeps my GPSโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No power
