Watch your fingers!

I love Chicago Cutlery knives. I have spent a lot of money on "high end" knives in the past and have been more than impressed with the quality and durability of the Chicago Cutlery knives. I see no need to spend more. But then again, I'm not a chef! This is a great knife and I would highly recommend the Chicago Cutlery.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • thoughtlessly

Good price for Asian knives

Good price but really doesn't last. I sharpen it every time I use it heavily, but I'm already starting to see that it needs a professional sharpening after about 3 months of daily use. And yes, I put it in the dishwasher. But I also do this with my 20-year-old Victorinox and have never had to sharpen it. I sharpen it about once a week.

Pros
  • Looking forward to
Cons
  • Nothing here

Not what I expected

A few years ago I bought two packs of these knives (one 7″, one 5″) from Kolya. I've always loved the 7 inch knife, it's light weight, has an ergonomic handle and a sharp blade. I expected this knife to be the same. This is not the case, the handle is too small in diameter and made of a different material, and the blade is too thick, which together make the knife heavier and more uncomfortable. What a disappointment.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Some cons

Not the quality you buy in store

Was very disappointed with the quality of this knife. I bought one of these from a local store and liked it so much I wanted another one. Found this at Revain. It looks the same, only the knife is twice as thin. It doesn't last as long and doesn't work as well as what I have. Not the same quality. I wonder if it's a fake.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • May damage

A NICE KNIFE FOR WORKING, GOOD QUALITY BUT AT AVERAGE PRICE.

Lighter and handier than a French chef's knife. This Chicago flatware arrived beautifully packaged in a reusable plastic sheath and was razor sharp. I haven't had it for a long time, but I've had Chicago cutlery for 45 years or more and they both last a long time and take, hold and cut very well. They appear to be reasonably priced and offer good to excellent service.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Difficult to say

Decent low to mid range knife

I bought this knife to replace my Chicago Cutlery Insignia Santoku knife. This knife is definitely cheaper and feels cheaper. Blade quality is medium to low. It didn't feel as strong and sharp as my Insignia Santoku knife. I sharpened it and it still hasn't reached the same hardness. He gets what he pays for and this is an example. Chicago Cutlery makes good cutlery, this is not an example. Spend a little more on the Insignia series.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Everything is great

Bad imitation/fake

I bought this knife to replace a previous model of the same knife and I swear the one I received is a fake. The original is large, heavy, and has a large taper from edge to tip. The handle was comfortable and easy to grip. Well-rounded and perfect for multi-hour use. The one I received was thin, light and didn't feel tangible. The handle was sharp and too small in all directions. The blade itself was warped and the overall finish was poor. The dimple on one side was badly smeared. 2/10 do not…

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Fade
