Right side only!?: Cycling

The product page shows that this mirror mounts on both the right and left of the handlebars, but actually only for the right side. Like most people, I need a mirror on my left so I can see traffic behind me. I really have no reason to put the mirror on the right. I figured based on the design that I could turn the mirror arm upside down and attach it on the other side, but the connections on each end of the arm are completely different.
