Junk **** My mistake **** This is an EXCELLENT SOLDERING IRON. I bought two irons, the other was with a big zero. That's the kind of iron your father used. It works and works well. I also bought an extra rheostat this way. This gives me the ability to set the desired/exact temperature needed for the task. Love it, forgive my mistake

Has lots of heat for big jobs

Got this to disassemble/assemble a few packs of RC 2S2P 7200 Lipo. The type of solder and amount of solder on the leads was way more than my 60 watt iron could melt. There were no problems with this iron. The tip is a little big for what I need, but I suspect he needs it so he retains enough warmth for larger tasks. If I didn't have my 60W adjustable iron, I would use a rheostat and some small attachments. However, it is suitable for soldering larger diameter wires (10AWG/12AWG). My 60W manages

Perfect for stained glass windows or whatever you need!

My wife is taking a stained glass class this winter and needed some basic necessities. I was a little skeptical as to what made these soldering irons different from the ones I use for electronics and wiring and found it to be performance related. My iron and gun are about 30 watts and 60 watts, but this one runs at 100 watts and works better with copper foil and solder than smaller ones.
