Clear Click Recorder

We have recorded some videocassettes. When we checked them, they were good. The quality was good. Tapes are about 30 years old. The age was probably the reason why the quality was only good. It's easy to use. I would recommend this to everyone.

Distorted and dark in accessories and consumables

The device is certainly easy to use, but the quality of the output video does not justify the rather high price. I copied some test images from both a VHS player and a Digital 8 camcorder. When played back on my PC screen (at 100% brightness!) both MP4 files were noticeably darker than the same images when viewed on my televisions were displayed. I can lighten the image in Photoshop CC or the software that comes with it, but considering how long it takes to render, I'd rather not do that unless

Cons
  • I vaguely remember

The hardware itself was so easy to use. I followed the quick start guide: plugged in, inserted the included flash drive, connected to my VHS player with the included cables, started playing the VHS tape and pressed the record button on the ClearClick unit. Use the OK button to pause recording or the Stop button to stop recording. It was incredibly easy and I was able to transfer footage from an old VHS tape in just a few minutes. However, video editing software is very confusing. Too bad I…

The best A/D converter on the market!

Holy Cow! I want to give this product 100 stars for what has allowed me to do for my friends and family. I really can't say enough great things about this product! I don't normally write reviews of Revain products, but this little device has been such a blessing I can hardly put it into words. First of all, I have experience in editing and information technology, so I'm definitely able to work. with both products. But I still couldn't get any of my editing systems to permanently connect to the…

It's too hard to make it work. Not sure if ever returned

Looked promising. Just hooked it up to our VCR, you could see the video on the connected screen and thought I had RECORD on. After a few hours, the supplied USB stick was almost empty. Just some default information about files and directories. Wandered through the menu structure, way beyond anything the meager manual suggested, and found that the default write option is for a flash card. Oops. The thin manual doesn't mention this. Set the target to the USB port using the provided flash drive…

Very happy with this purchase! Highly recommended.

I have a large library of home videos from the late 1980's. Last year I decided to copy them into digital files to keep. I used a basic VHS to DVD recorder to connect my old Sharp VCR to my laptop's USB port. With free software I was able to transfer the video digitally to my laptop, but then I had to run filters through the video to deinterlace it (remove the lines you sometimes see in old videos) and use other filters to optimize it. Video. It took a long time for each video, but the really…

Buy it! This will make your life easier.

Before I bought this ClearClick Video to Digital Converter 2.0, I was using an older video capture device (made by Honestech) and a "Universal" converter I bought from Revain about a month ago for about $20 . . Both of the above worked "just fine". The Honetech product was too old and clumsy; The new capture device was fine, but it took a lot of work to get it working with a third-party capture program. I've spent several weeks filming and editing Mini DV, Hi8, and Standard 8 camcorders using a
