I am a hairstylist and would highly recommend the Wahl Pro Set if you are cutting or trimming your child/husband. I bought this set a few days ago just to protect my clippers. This is a new line of "Elite" bits with a metal clip and stronger teeth. They are way better than the guards you will find in any other set. Just received today and my rating will reflect many previous reviews, both good and unfortunately bad. the device itself. It was used for a quick haircut and cut hair with ease. Mine kept digging into my skull from the side if the angle wasn't right. It also cuts very poorly. I watched their blades adjustment videos in hopes of fixing these issues. Mine was so far out that I had to apply a lot of pressure while tightening it to almost line it up with the fixed blade. I think mine just had mfg. defects. I should have returned it when I bought it. My old Andis got better day and night. I've been using it this way for several years. I'll just stay away from Val.
