Cloyes FTW for Engine Parts

Legendary Timing Kits! This kit is easy to install and offers options to slow down or advance the camera. If you are changing the water pump on a high mileage car (mine is a 1994 F-150 wa 5.8 200km engine), do yourself a favor and remove the harmonic balancer and timing chain cover. REPLACE CHAIN! It is not expensive. To add: my oil pressure went from 1/8 on the gauge to 3/4 on the gauge! My truck thinks it's a baby again.

Pros
  • Package Weight: 3.85 lbs
Cons
  • Long Lead Time

However, I did find that the 115,000 mile OEM timing chain was a bit stretched/slack. So I decided to replace it with this cheaper than OEM chain set. Why foolishly wait for the manufacturer's chain to break when it's clocked up somewhere over 200,000 miles? ***FURTHER, according to research, the gearing on this set allows for an…
