It is best to use this as a normal cleaning agent for .

I think this product should be on every owner's shelf, even if you don't have hard water. This is best used as a regular toilet cleaner as flush openings will almost always become clogged with debris. Pour a full cup or two down the water tank fill tube a few times a year and leave it overnight and you will most likely never have a problem. It also makes it easier to clean bathtubs and sinks when deposits build up. This is probably the best and safest scale, limescale and rust removal product…

CLR really works

I live in Las Vegas where the water is considered "hard". Faucets and shower heads tend to clog within 2 years unless the house has a water softening system, which my house doesn't have. I poured the CLR into a glass bowl and then soaked the clogged showerhead in it for 30 minutes. The shower head is 100% fine. I put a cup of CLR in the dishwasher and another cup in the washing machine and ran both on the normal wash cycle. Both look sparkling clean inside. OMG, this CLR thing really works. I…

  • So-so

This is the only product that removes mold and limescale in the shower. I clean my house daily and have used so many cleaning products that just don't work. We have hard water and this is the best solution for white spots. Be aware that it is strong so I would recommend opening a window or door so the fumes don't affect you. The good news is that the smell goes away after you wash it off. Great product and I will never buy anything else to wash my shower again.

Ideal for slow toilet flushes with calcium and minerals

Tried everything: shorten the chain, change the filling valve (twice) and check the water pressure. Finally called the Toto specialists who recommended the CLR. First, turn off the tap on the wall and flush. Empty the bowl as much as possible (not necessarily completely empty). Use the WHOLE GALLON: Pour 1/2 into the overflow pipe (inside the tank). Pour the other 1/2 into the bowl. As instructed by Toto, leave on for 24 hours. Deposits of calcium and minerals dissolved in huge chunks. Washed…

Outstanding product!

My house was renovated a few years ago. I have river stones on the shower floor. Terrible limescale deposits form on it, which are almost impossible to remove. I had professional painters and my contractor tried to remove it to no avail. I decided to check out the CLR and try it myself. I can't believe what a great job he did! I dumped it on the floor and let it sit for 15 minutes, then scrubbed it with a brush. The calcium was so bad that I had to do this several times over the course of 2…

Not a miracle cure, but REALLY WORKS! TO UPDATE.

Fu! My circa 1960's porcelain bathtub had a REALLY large, ugly, rusty scale build up from a very slowly dripping faucet. (I have to dig in and replace shims.) I've tried Bartender's Friend, Clorox with bleach, all sorts of food products, even a razor blade and pumice stone and barely touched those things. hardware store to give it a hit. It's not a miracle product, but it works. I repeatedly used the sprayer to apply a good coat of pure CLR to the uncomfortable area, then came back 15 minutes…

Great product but maybe not the best for my application

I have used this product for years to descale showerheads and faucet filters and I usually buy the smaller size. Years ago, before the advent of the internet, I used this product to descale a 40 gallon water heater. There are now many videos on YouTube talking about using this product for this application. If you wish to use this product, be aware that the manufacturer's website advises you not to use it to descale your water heater. They state that it will be permanently tied to the heater…

Works great and is a more economical size

We have well water that tastes great but has a lot of lime/scale in it. CLR perfectly dissolves limescale deposits in sanitary facilities as well as rust or limescale deposits in the toilet bowl. For toilets we just pour a cup or two into the bowl and pour over the rim to get the most out of it. It hisses and destroys any rust or scale. If it's been a while between treatments we'll leave it overnight and come in a couple of times with a toilet brush to fluff it up and re-wet the rim and bowl…
