Big help is best at Tools & Equipment

I recently bought a 1999 Harley and the first thing I wanted was a service manual. This is ideal for providing easy maintenance and repair instructions. Exactly what the first owner needs.

World's Best Manual - Diagnostic, Test & Measurement Tools

I love Clymer manuals. I have one for every Harley I've owned. You have almost all the information you will ever need in the pages. Highly recommended to all my friends. I also gave them away for the new year

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • Very Expensive

Good bang for your buck.

I'm by no means a professional motorcycle mechanic, but I have common sense and know what needs to be done in the workshop. This guide was perfect for what I needed it for and will help in the future. I just would have liked more detailed pictures. I would recommend this guide for beginners.

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • High Price

Looks good on a workbench, better on the floor. ;)

Outstanding quality. Thicker and wider than I expected. Now I don't have to worry about my bike tipping over since I use it as a quick stand. y/k Definitely good and worth the money. I will look for other manuals and service manuals to have as much information on hand if needed.

Pros
  • Makes you happy
Cons
  • Lots of things

Save your money, put it in a good advice shop.

Ok, not very good. I'll save it but I doubt it will help much. I'm going to buy a regular store manual. All these manuals like Haynes are actually bullshit. Next I bought a regular Harley repair manual. It's expensive but worth the money. This Clymer guide is good if you don't have a TP.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Slightly torn

A must for every Harley owner

If you own a Harley Davidson Super Glide and want to work on the machine yourself, this book is a must. I've used it for simple things that have saved me a lot of money compared to paying someone to do it; Fluid change and gas cable change to name just two. I also rebuilt a carburetor using this book in conjunction with online videos.

Pros
  • The Ultimate Legend
Cons
  • Upgrades

Easy to read, the book has almost everything.

This manual is quite complete but I wish it was for one bike only, now I need to check the information to make sure it's for my bike. At least most of the information is there. It wasn't bad for the money, most repair procedures are out there and basically the same, but you need to make sure you're looking at the right information.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Clarity

Ideal for beginners who want to do their own maintenance

I inherited Daina from my father. In excellent condition but all oils and greases need to be changed. I can use most tools, minor car repairs and maintenance like brakes etc. But no formal training or anything like that. I've never worked on a bike before. Using this Clymer and YouTube guide, I was able to change the oil, primary crankcase, and transmission oil myself. In fact, I found that the shifting problem was due to the Harley dealer overfilling the primary box at the last service! It's…

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • something different
