I have built a candle holder that can be used with standard glass votives. I used to make smaller votive holes but I can't find a permanent supply. This bit allows you to use votive candles that can be found anywhere.
I'm a carpenter and needed a 40mm Forstner for a project and I got this, it's relatively cheap. I found it to be similar to the CMT cutters I own: Pretty good quality but I don't rely on them for edge retention. They are therefore quite suitable for occasional cross-head work. But for the bits I use all the time I would consider a different brand.
The resulting bit was reduced by 0.006 inch in diameter. It cuts holes too small for a 40mm magswitch to fit without grinding the difference. I bought it to drill holes for a 150lb Magswitch to make woodworking jigs. The edge and wire edges are left over from factory grinding. It looks like it's not the SMT manufacturer as the box says 'imported' and it's not orange SMT it's black color. I would not buy this product again for its purpose.
