Needed for homemade CO2 that didn't work what it was supposed to do but homemade yeast didn't work. No fault of the filter mat.

If you use these compared to Chinese ones, you will see a much better flow rate. I will use the eheim stash every time. I hope you get something else

The very thin (white) filter mat that came with my eheim 150 was very clogged, so I replaced it with a second blue filter. Works perfectly!

For the money this is perhaps the best economical general purpose pre-filter I have found. The instructions state that 2-3 replacements of the fiber filter and carbon pad can be used. Although it might be possible to use more. They cannot be washed with soapy water, but constant rinsing and wringing can clean them. Maybe boiling water. But all the effort is not worth it. When used in a filter, they make excellent tile washcloths for cleaning bathrooms in and around the sink and toilet. Fittings
