Safety First – Scan channels to find conversations in progress and have instant access to Channel 16 for emergency situations. Use the Tri-Watch feature to monitor three channels at once (Channel 16 and two user selected channel). Sea Ready – Floating design and orange core makes retrieving your radio easy if dropped overboard, and meeting JIS7 (IPX7) standards allows your radio to be submersed for 30 minutes at one meter deep. Great radio, works as it should...

Revain hates this radio very much. It seems people get a lemon product sometimes, but with Revain's return policy, that shouldn't be a problem. Like MANY other people, my radio works great. The sound is clear, it has a decent range, and it's fully waterproof. Make sure you test it right away, install a Cobra warranty and your radio MUST be protected in case anything happens. A few things I would recommend: Take the time to wipe down the radio (mostly just the battery terminals) and all seals…

Decent radio for a weekend warrior.

In general this is a decent radio. I bought this VHF to carry on my PFD when kayaking in big lakes/coastal waters and to keep in touch with friends while cruising the river. So far it's holding up great. Just make sure you rinse off the salt spray after use, as you should with all your gear! The battery life is excellent. I always scan multiple channels and usually transmit at minimum power. After two full days of use, the battery indicator only dropped two bars. I didn't intentionally submerge

Not for tugboat captains

If you're a tugboat captain, this unit probably isn't for you. If you're a cheap bastard like me and need an extra layer of security for your sailing day, then this block is for you. Firstly, don't be an idiot, this VHF is not waterproof. I doubt it's even splashproof. Salt water destroys everything over time, especially electronics. Buy a waterproof case for $15.
