Virtually useless for melting metal. You'll burn your flesh before you even come close to using this melter/oven. The handle length is about 14 inches.

It serves its purpose but looked like it had been used, broken and then reassembled before it got to me so I hope it won't let me down.

The product is well made and serves its purpose. The only problem is that the handle is not thermally insulated. A nice wooden handle would have complemented the ladle. I need to buy wood to craft a wooden handle.

Arrived quickly, works well around the campfire to make a round bullet for muzzleloaders. Nice long handle to keep you away from the flames but you still need gloves to handle once heated. I'll get a wooden handle

I used this ladle primarily for melting lead for weights. I make a lot of circuit boards during the spring and summer and this will be one of the scoops I use quite often after seeing how smooth it pours. Other buckets I have seem to have debris around the edge of the drain lip and I didn't have that when using this bucket.
