🔌 Cobra Straight Power Cord: The Perfect Match for Cobra Radar Detectors Review

This adapter was purchased to replace one that had accidentally cut the cord. The replacement power cord plug for the radar detector fits EXTREMELY FREE and will disconnect itself, even with normal driving on smooth paved roads. This item is NOT delivering consistent performance as it should. I am very disappointed to buy something that should be universal but is NOT! It has to be secure!,, 😖

I think this is a much better quality than what came with the radar detector, works great and has a red LED on the side of the plug to let you know you have power. Well I found it better, loss of contact where the wire enters the connector on the detector itself, thing started beeping but I did see the radar go out and flicker every now and then, I don't think better, worse only the wire that came with it has even lasted longer than 2 months.

Plugged directly into my much older Cobra detector. The description says it's for 'newer' models but I've had this radar detector for probably 15 years now and it works great. Connection problems started after a year and a half. This worked well enough if the cable was oriented a certain way (loop up towards the windshield and then down) then it would make contact. Now the fuse blows. The original cable lasted over ten years until the jacket lagged behind the wires due to UV degradation. But this cable is not worth buying. I ordered a Cobra radar detector a few years ago and the twisted pair cable broke after a few months. I ordered this straight cord and when I received it I reinforced the point where the cord connects to the connector by coating it with shoe slime, a tough rubber shoe repair glue. I use this (and a Cobra radar detector) alternately between motorbike and car. I have previously purchased one of the coiled cables to replace the faulty original coiled cable, but I like the straight cable much, much better as it doesn't maintain constant tension on the 90 degree connector to the radar detector.
