Cuts easily

Love this knife! Cold steel is great! It's so sharp and cuts so nicely with no effort. Great prices and amazing fixed blade to own and use. I would recommend my friends and family to buy this if they are ever looking for a good fixed blade. I am very happy with my purchase!

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Another hit Cold Steel

Got this leatherneck a few days ago. Adds to my growing collection of Cold Steel knives. I have a Kabar and it's a great knife. But I think Cold Steel has made some improvements to this historical masterpiece. Like the handle. Shape and material ensure a secure hold. Blade steel D2. Very good steel, also used by Benchmade. A good case too. So overall this is a very good solid knife. Highly recommended. This knife is not bushcraft, if you know what I mean.

  • Easy to read control panel

This is a general purpose knife

I have the D2 version of the knife. The first thing I do is see if I can review the material. Yes, it is clearly marked "Deutsch D2". The knife is versatile. Despite being slightly larger than the average tactical survival knife, it is well balanced. I don't feel tired when I use the knife for a long time because the balance point is at the handle and at the junction of the blade. That's also why I don't feel it difficult. The handle is very ergonomic and comfortable. D2 steel can actually hold

Absolutely great knife!

I just received the knife. Absolutely great! Looks cool and feels good in the hand. The grip looks like it was made for my hand. The blade is universal size, very sharp and hard. Haven't used it for anything yet, but I googled D2 Steel. It is one of the hardest steels and does not dull easily (nor does it sharpen easily once dull). For those who don't like Made in China. The photos I have uploaded are to let new buyers know that this knife is made in Taiwan. I didn't know where it was made…

D2 Perfection! in Power and Hand Tools

I love this knife! I see many comparisons to the K Bar or Ontario versions of this knife. I don't want to do that because I think all three have different characteristics that are different from each other and make them unique, and all three have different reasons each of them like them. Still, I will say that I carry this knife more than any other. It's heavier with a thicker shaft. I also really like that D2 steel sharpens very quickly and this knife is as strong as a nail! I'm including a…

Worse lubricated than anal beads but otherwise fine

I love Cold Steel products. I just want to preface this by letting you know that I regularly purchase your products, from clubs to swords and knives, I have always been happy with the quality. But today when my K-Bar arrived and I took it out of its plastic case, the blade (which usually has a thin coating of oil for blade quality) was choked with oil. He caught the blade. Now, after a hasty cleaning, everything works perfectly, but it was a bit sad that it was oiled like a pig. Plus it's…

Reinforced interpretation of an old naval combat knife made from D2 steel

The finish is even and the dark finish is applied evenly. The plastic handle is comfortable and practical, the end cap is made of solid steel. I've read some reviews describing this knife as "heavy" but it seems to be on par with most of my fixed blade full-stock knives. It feels solid and all my friends who have played with it have given it positive feedback. The steel is German D2 and the knife is made in Taiwan. The blade comes "abundantly" lubricated from the factory, the blade is very…

Probably my favorite knife

Have been using this knife fairly regularly for 4 years and so far so good. I have treated the wood and used it extensively for spring pens, packet openers, and other uses including food cutting. It's great for everything except slicing food, as it's not easy to cut food with a thick blade, but it will work in a pinch. The handle is very comfortable and the blade has a full tail which gives me confidence that it will serve well as a sturdy survival knife for years to come. I wouldn't say I…

My new favorite bushcraft/survival knife

This knife quickly became my new favorite bushcraft/survival knife, surpassing my SRK, Recon Tanto, Trail Master and Gerber Strongarm. It can handle big jobs like chopping and cleaving like the Trail Master but weighs about half as much and does fine carving and feathering just like the SRK and Strongarm, but with the benefit of a sturdy pommel that can be used with a hammer. Crush nails and tent poles, roots and nuts, shatter glass or smash rocks. This is an upgraded version of the venerable…
