Protect me from breakers, load centers and fuses

I bought this to use with my portable generator which I use to power tools and other outdoor electrical equipment. I think this is a great security device.

Cons

Disappointed with Circuit Breakers

I have just received this product and I was very disappointed. The product is listed as a wired GFCI 12/3. The problem is that the current rating was not listed in the online description. The current rating of this product is 15 amps. Most professionals know that a 12/3 wire is typically equivalent to a 20 amp rating or appliance.

Pros
  • Circuit Breakers
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived

Good product but NOT for devices that need to stay on

This appears to be a well made product but I would like to mention one caveat. If you have something connected to the UPS (backup battery) and place that cable between the wall and the UPS, you will be surprised. Turning off the power turns off the GFCI power supply. When power is turned back on, the GFCI will not reset. You have to reset it manually. As a result, anything you have plugged into it will remain powered off until you physically press the reset button. Imagine being away all day…

Pros
  • RCD
Cons
  • No instructions
