These shorts are awesome. Very light fabric that dries quickly. They don't get caught between your legs. I normally wear a size 18 (47 inches at the hips) but according to the Columbia size chart I ended up between two sizes. So I went up to size 20 (2X). The only problem with them is that they sit above my natural waist. (I'm only 5ft 3" and have a short torso). Because of this, the shorts "swell" and it seems I'm taller than I really am. I increased the size and it was good because now they fit perfectly. These are decent shorts, not too short and light weight. My only complaint is the cargo pockets which are just a waste of space. One has a flap sewn on each side so you only have about 3 fingers to get in there and if you actually put anything in it would only be coins as they are too small.
