Comcast says you get extra remotes for free. But every time I've been to the xFinity store, they've run out of extras. This is a deal and I don't have to wait for Comcast's blue moon. I now have two remote controls for each TV in the house and they are compatible. Easy setup with xFinity boxes. BTW, I just got a new xFinity box with a different remote, but this remote works great with this box. I find the new xFinity remote quite bulky so I use two of them with the box and the other in a drawer
