Great product, one small flaw

Overall great product and easy installation, however one of the connectors was bent and we had to bend it back. The photo shows that the paint has chipped due to the flexing of the specified product.

Good Product: Lift Legs

The 300ZX's front hood struts have been known to fail after 20+ years. . . so would you if you had to keep that hood on for so long. These racks were easy to install and worked exactly as planned with no unwelcome surprises. Shipping was also fast via Revain. What's not to like?

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • No Form Required

Perfect for hood

Perfect for hood. Very strong with both included. Yes, you do have to cut the pin off as per previous reviews, but it's fairly painless. I used a hacksaw to cut the pin in half and then punched out the rest with a nail punch. A little auto repair in the backyard never hurt anyone. Act!

Perfect Fit: Shocks, Struts and Suspension

They fit perfectly on my 1987 Nissan 300ZX. Feels a lot stronger than the standard bars that were replaced a few years ago. Just pay attention to the brackets that hold the bracket to the hood. Place the bracket in a vise and drill out the rivet, lightly drill a hole and use the fasteners provided and they fit like a glove. The customer service there is amazing.

Good replacement for 1984 OEM 300Z cowl struts

Bought this kit to replace defective stock struts on a 1984 300Z. The only major step to installing them was drilling and removing the original Nissan mounting brackets from the factory racks. Without these, these spare parts cannot be installed. Once assembled and installed on Z, the hood opened smoothly and held the open position as it should.

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Strong Arm live up to their name!

These Strong Arms fit my 1985 300ZX (Z31) perfectly. The first thing I noticed when I picked up my car was that the old brackets had been removed and I had to prop the hood up with a 2x4. Installing the first I was able to get the 2x4 out and only one of the two helps lift the hood (do not do this with the other when swapping as both are intended to be used on the same car). At the same time, I only checked the quality of the product). As some other people have said, you'll have to drill out a…

a gift and a curse

first let me say that I have a 1986 non-turbo 300zx. Good: product works perfectly, fits perfectly, etc. Bad: as the first reviewer was able to state The Nissan mentioned has riveted the stock racks to a small support bracket, the problem is this purchase doesn't come with a new standard replacement bracket huh means you have to somehow remove the original bracket to reuse it with these knuckles. I drilled through the rivets to loosen the stock brackets from the stock knuckles. After that…

Pros
  • like everything before
Cons
  • poorly thought out
