A fairly heavy package, I couldn’t imagine what could make it so heavy. The box was filled with beautiful waxed sections, top and bottoms and pine pieces for the frame. The quality of the wood and cuts were flawless. The instructions were basically non existent but viewing the videos, I quickly figured it out. I will start this review by saying I am very critical of products I purchase from amazon. That being said I was very impressed by this Langstroth hive. The dove tail joints that it came with were perfectly cut and fit together very tightly and perfectly flush! The wax coating was better than I could've expected! The frames fit together tightly and with the provided nails are very strong! The only thing I wish it came with, were a little more detailed assembly instructions, but I laid everything

My 14yo daughter put this together while watching her favorite tv show. Very easy once u figure out the cryptic symbols to build it. The only complaint is the wax tends to stick solidly together once outside in the heat. Your going to need a hive tool to separate it. It’s thoroughly waxed! I’m guessing it will stay fresh for years! Bees seem to be taking well to their new home. I’ll repost in a couple weeks if they abandon the box.

New beekeeper here so I looked for a sturdy hive yet economical. I bought two.They were delivered quick and no damage.Outer boxes appear to be cedar and are nicely waxed.The instructions are really, really basic but it's easy to figure out once the parts are laid out. Screws and nails were included but it wasn't clear what screws went where.Dovetail pieces for the boxes went together tightly and had to use a hammer.I glued every frame and always use TiteBond3 on my wood projects. A beautiful hive box. Nice parts overall and easy instruction. A good starter hive or decorative piece while researching Beekeeping. Ultimately, a horizontal hive is better for the hobby. There was one screw lacking. The nice wax coating is on all wood box surfaces. The fit is perfect. The 16 hive frames are easy to build, plastic foundation fits in the grove well. I pre-drill a shallow hole for the nail to put the frames together.

I really like this hive. I got an eight frame because I am only adding pollinators to about an acre, so it will be enough bees. The eight frame is also easier to handle and lighter when doing hive inspections or harvesting honey. The product is well made and finished well. I like they use black substrates for the brooding frames, so inspecting for larvae and such is easier to see. It went together well. Nothing came broken. I used screws instead of the nails they provided. I am well pleased.

I bought this for my wife for Christmas and I'm excited to get into this new hobby. We have a large property with a lot of wildlife and this will certainly attract more and be fun for both of us to spend time together. This was easy to assemble taking only about 30 minutes to put together and looks really good. Craftmanship of all the pieces was very good. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is wanting to get into beekeeping.

The only thing we did different was pre drill the nail holes into the frames. Easy to assemble! Even our children helped. Fun family project! We would definitely purchase another one from here! The box and frames had plenty of wax too!

Absolutely love this product. Got it today around 7pm and it was fully assembled by 8:30pm. They have instructions but the pictures on them are unclear. The instructions really aren't necessary though. They are very very easy to assemble. They give you some extra nails too which is nice. Will definitely buy again.

Unfortunately they did not put a lot of care into making this particular hive. Split wood, the wood doesn't meet the way it should leaving gaps. At least it has predrilled holes.

Made in China. Front of bottom board is not finished. When wax wears off, it will swell and buckle when it rains. That's my review!

My wife and I had a bee swarm in one of our trees and we wanted to give them a home, which is why we bought this unit. Although it took awhile to put together, the directions were straightforward and it was a fun assembly. It works great and we look forward to eventually having a thriving colony and our own honey!

This is a well constructed hive kit. Better quality that a flow hive in my experience.I'll be buying my supply's from them again.

This hive was very easy to put together. All I needed was a rubber mallet and a hammer. It’s in my garage and some bees are already checking it out. I plan to put it near my vegetable garden next spring hoping it attracts a swarming colony as I have done before.

We just put it together. Easy to do. Cedar wood smells so good! Solid. There's a Wax coating to protect from elements. Great product!

I had done bee keeping many many years ago. Deciding to start back up found this box so ordered. It was very easy to assemble and strut iron very good. I also l8ke that it was ore waxed so I do not have to paint. For a beginner this would be great to start with.

This is my 2nd Bee Castle hive. First was very good quality. The second had some quality issues. Some of the dovetail joints of the boxes were sloppily machined. One of my end pieces of my medium supers came in two pieces! Appears to have been made out of the end of a board run so a second piece was added. Poor QC.
