I've found that when you try to insert a 1/4" double flare tool it doesn't fit. It seems that the inner layer of the hose is too small to use the right size tool.

Warning! The description on the tube is wrong. This is copper pipe, not steel as advertised. The only obvious reason for silver plating seems to be to deceive customers into believing it is steel as there would be no practical reason for plating copper as it is inherently corrosion resistant. Unfortunately, due to false advertising, it is impossible to know if the tube is pure copper or a nickel alloy. This is of great importance if you intend to use this material for brake lines as pure copper
