Disappointing surveillance cables

They won't stay on the cable when squeezed. As if they were made for something between RG59 and RG6. The Siamese RG59 cable I was using literally fell off. Another brand went straight as described.

Pros

Don't buy, don't work

These things seem as useless as they can be. I do retail plant protection and have bought these for a number of CCTV installations and they usually bend the coax or just fall off right after crimping. I made the mistake of buying two bags and I even gave up trying to use them after the first bag and just ordered some fervor. Cheap Chinese junk.

Xfinity Cable Issues Fixed

After intermittent connectivity issues with the Xfinity DVR box, I have decided to replace the patch cable to the wall jack with a high quality, high bandwidth gold plated cable. This significantly reduced the problems, so it was decided to replace the local HD port's chrome-plated cable connector built into the lamellar socket with this gold-plated version. It was a simple exchange, took a few minutes. The design of these connectors also appears to consist of higher quality internal…

allows two lines of cable to be connected without current splitting

Most retailers don't sell these anymore - all you can find are splitters that split the signal and cost more than you would have to pay just to connect the cable line . The price was reasonable - companies these days make insane profits on anything. They'll cost less than 5 cents to make in the US (I'm an engineer, I know these things) and probably less than a cent in China, so the $1 price they cost is one Amount of money. but there are retailers who charge $5 for one of these, so I'm not…

Poor quality good for security and surveillance

Breaking rings. The only way to get them working is to pull out the metal ring and plastic sleeve first. Slide them down the coax cable. .Then push the plastic back into the connector after spreading the braided shield over the front of the plastic sleeve. Firmly insert the coaxial cable into the connector to hook the center conductor. Then insert the plastic sleeve and the metal ring behind it. Use a compression tool and rotate the plug a quarter turn from time to time to even out the…
