Works as it should! Ethernet Coax Cable

This item works as advertised. My goal for this product was to use a single coaxial cable from the basement to the attic without running a separate ethernet cable due to the difficulty of running it inside walls and space limitations. The coaxial cable I had doesn't have a splitter. It was a direct route from the basement to the attic. So I set up a device in the basement - the ethernet cable from the router is connected to the ethernet input of the device, and the coax cable in the basement is

Dropped Connections / IP Configuration Issues

I may not have understood their purpose but I thought they were the same as MoCA adapters. I had an adapter connected to my AT&T router in the basement with an Ethernet cable, then to a coax line going to my office, and then to an unmanaged 8-port switch. Everything worked great for a week or two, then suddenly my RokuTV stopped working on a wired connection. I thought it was the switch and troubleshooting was a huge pain. I tried connecting the TV to the Comtrend adapter but still no internet.

Where have you been all my life?

I'm annoyed that I never knew something like this existed. Living in everything from old rental houses to overcrowded apartments, I've always had issues with congested WiFi or homes that behave like Faraday cages due to their age and construction. I moved into my 130 year old house a few years ago and have had trouble maintaining a consistent speed with only Wi-Fi due to the occasional brick chimneys, plastered walls and house additions over the years despite only having a floor area of about 1

Good initial rating - rating updated after 1 year

Between these settings, my network transfer rate is 497 Mbps. The setup didn't go too bad. I reconfigured my coax spaghetti in the basement to be a straight arrow from one to the other. Nothing but those things on Coax. I'm glad it worked because I didn't want to run Cat6 in my apartment and mess around with drywall rework and all that. I'm happy with the 500. It's a good speed for the no-wire tradeoff. I'll update this review in a while if anything changes, but for now - good stuff. The…

1200 Mbps is not possible! But great for 1000Mbps.

Updated over 1 year. These devices seem to be able to reach a maximum throughput of about 500 Mbit/s point-to-point (read, best case). This works fine in my case, but the reported YMMV.1200 Mbps is the total throughput, meaning if you are using these devices (4 devices minimum) in your home coax infrastructure then you have a theoretical potential to get 1200 Mbps throughput on multiple reach devices simultaneously. Under ideal conditions, however, this is pure bandwidth, so you'll see a lot…

I recently wired the network infrastructure on the first floor of our house using Cat 5E to Gigabit Ethernet Cable that terminates at the network utility router. Panel in our basement. I did this to replace a network of 4 MOCA 1.0 Motorola NIM100's that I have used for the last 15 years. But recent complaints from kids about "slow" network speeds when streaming or gaming meant it was time to upgrade the wired and Wi-Fi infrastructure along with my internet connection (FiOS 75/75). The house has
