🍶 Contigo Purity Glass Water Bottle, 20 oz, Smoke - Silicone Tether Included Review

The glass is nice but the other components of the water bottle are faulty. For example, when I first ordered it, there was already rust in the lid. We asked to send us a new one and after two months the plastic ring came off the cover (see photo). Overall I am not impressed with the quality of this water bottle and will most likely look for another brand of glass bottles.

I love this water bottle! To me, glass water tastes better than plastic water, and it's great quality for the price. The stainless steel cap is attached with a strong silicone strap that keeps the cap together with the bottle (no more hanging caps in the sink!) and can also be used to carry the bottle. I was dying to replace my plastic Contigo shaker (used only for water) so I gave it a try. It is much taller than these bottles, so it should not be kept under water machines at work or at home without being held. I didn't want the lid to have too many nooks and crannies for bacteria to grow, and this lid seemed straight forward to me. Large water bottle. I wanted something in an iced tea glass. I've been using it daily for over a year with no problems. The lid is good, it is not difficult to clean even if tea dust gets into the cracks. No issues with the strap but I've never tried rocking it too much. There has never been a single leak, even with a thread of a tea bag sticking out. The silicone sleeve makes it grippy and offers a bit of impact protection. Honestly, no one should expect this thing to survive a fall when full.

This is a fairly solid glass water bottle with solid construction and a nice feel. It has grown into an item that I have used almost daily since purchasing it. I would recommend it to everyone except those with the most ardent "no plastic" needs. I wanted to avoid plastic due to BPA concerns, but it turns out that ALMOST all jar options have some sort of plastic or silicone ring in the cap to ensure a tight seal.
