"Efficient Battery Regulator for Car Enthusiasts

Using this product, our team found that it is a reliable and efficient way to regulate battery charging in a garage setting. We were impressed with the automatic system that makes maintenance a breeze. The small size and lightweight design make it easy to install and use. However, the instructions could be more straightforward for those with little technical knowledge.

Pros
  • Efficient and reliable
Cons
  • Confusing instructions

Something about the regulator

I am trying to charge a 12V lead-acid battery from a wind turbine with this regulator. Apparently I was too late with the return, but maybe the defective device can still be exchanged. I set the output to 13.8V with a lab power supply connected to the input. Linear regulation is good enough for input voltages below 13.8V, but very poor for higher voltages. This is not to be expected with a buck/boost converter. When connecting an ohmic load, the output voltage drops by approx. 40 mV with a 30 Ξ©

Pros
  • Type of modules: Non-Synchronous Rectification Non-Isolated Boost Tank (SEPIC)
Cons
  • Long delivery time

The device does not match the description - it is just a step-up converter

Attention! This device is not a boost/buck device as advertised - it is a boost device only (the output voltage is always equal to or greater than the input voltage). At the time of my order, this unit was labeled as a boost converter, which means the output voltage can be higher or lower than the input voltage depending on configuration. tested with each load as my needs required a device that would step up and step down the voltage simultaneously (I need a fixed output voltage regardless of…

Pros
  • Power: 30W / 50W (MAX)
Cons
  • I don't really like it, everything is fine
