Can't Handle the Wind: Creation

If you have this super rare item called the Wind, don't expect to mind. I bought 5 packs to fit a large roll of parasol over my pergola. When the first Santa Ana wind blew through, these things started popping like buttons on a male stripper's shirt. I had to buy some emergency clips so I don't lose all my fabric. When the wind died down (as well as the heat) I went back in there and ripped them all out and replaced them with deck screws + wing washers at the exact same interval. Now do another

3/5 stars, satisfied. Does the job but don't expect to have to remove and reuse those mounts.

Works. It only gets 3 stars because advantages: + Ready to use. All you need is a hammer + Inexpensive and quick to attach to wood + Will not damage pergola fabric or wood + Holds fabric very firmly and securely in place. Cons: - They cannot be removed and reinstalled. Use needle nose pliers to remove it and it's 50/50 if it keeps its shape or all 8 teeth. Even very careful removal of these rendered the mounts unusable. Of the 50, only about 3 could not successfully drive all of their teeth…

Works well for attaching stretch shading fabric

I have tried butterfly clips to attach shading fabric but found them very difficult to close so I bought this cord and pin thinking I could use the shading fabric will fold . over the stretch and sew it on. The needle that came with the cord was too big for my purpose; It was very difficult to pull the cord through the double layer. I found a pack of "assorted yarn needles" at Revain that was much smaller and worked great. The one I used was about 2.5 inches long with a bent end to guide it…

Becomes brittle and breaks in the sun

Coolaroo needs to improve this product. They become brittle and break. I bought three packs of 20 two years ago and installed them by holding three 6' x 30' pieces of fabric stretched lengthwise between the nylon coated cables. This setup protects my yard from the scorching sun here in Southern California. The cables run through the clamps and are loose rather than tight.
