Not what I expected

This thing is huge! My fault for not realizing how big it really is. Might be a great item but not for my use. I was looking for a temperature sensor for my grill and this was not the right one.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Works great, GREAT

This thing works great but I didn't really get how big it was from the pictures. This thing is huge. About a foot and a half long. The clip on it is adjustable to fit any pot, but it will stick a foot in the air if you're using a small pot. This thing is clearly intended for commercial use, not home cooking.

Very large fat thermometer defective

I bought this thermometer because I needed a high-quality fat thermometer. The first thing that strikes you is that this thing is very big, much bigger than I thought. It is about two to three times the size of a conventional meat thermometer. This makes reading easier. I also like it because the dial has an "ideal” marking for a deep-drying temperature of 325-400 degrees. So you know quickly when your oil temperature is right for frying. This thermometer is well built and appears to be of…

The best time of analog roast thermometer.

I have to say as I cook for a living it is worth the money and works great as a roasting thermometer. I consider myself a fan of thermometers and have an extensive collection. It's well built and beats most on the market. The best options cost 3-4 times more and simply do not justify the purchase. With my second device, since my first expired after 6 years in the trenches, used about 4 months.

Pros
  • Thermometer
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Great cooking pot thermometer for home brewing

Need a kettle thermometer with a range of 13 inches or more for my 20 gallon deep brew pot. I contacted Cooper Atkins directly and they advised me to just remove the wooden handle and I would have a 14 inch reach. Perfect! He has a big face that is easy to read. Very solidly built. ideal for brewing yourself. Read 212F when boiling and 75F when chilling the wort (like the second instant read thermometer I use as a backup). The correctness is beyond doubt. Update, this suction cup lasted 4 years

Hemostat must be modified!

I used this product as soon as I received it and again the next day. The large dial is excellent and easy to read. I have not yet tested the accuracy and assume it is correct and will edit this review if I find otherwise. Here is my main complaint. It's with a hemostat. I used it for deep frying in a cast iron Dutch oven. Indentation about 4-5 inches. The hemostat will not wear out the pot thermometer by adjusting/moving it this far down the stem. It just falls/falls out of the pot. I made and…
