Garmin Top Mount for Takeaway Bike

Works. It would be better if it wasn't all plastic, but it's easy to install and provides a secure mount for your Garmin, better than a mount held in place by rubber bands.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • More

Cheap plastic good for bike GPS navigators

Terrible quality plastic. Installed according to instructions. I was very pleased with the looks and ease of installation, but on my first ride I encountered a dent no larger than a normal sized dent I might encounter on a ride and immediately the lower plastic holding the bracket broke off in place and this is where my phone went.

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Great looks, average build and low cost.

One ride and I'm impressed with the quality and value. Less than half the price of other similar solutions with no visible branding and unobtrusive design. Didn't notice the soft closing others have mentioned so far, but we'll see how the clamp holds. Initial locking and unlocking is crisp.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Some issues

Works great so far with a small mod!

The surface isn't flawless, but looks good when you're at least 30cm away. No complaints. around the back of the plastic bracket so that the locking tabs were pressed against the GPS computer with little force. It's perfect - at least as secure as the OEM mounts I think. Good product.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • boring packaging

Refundable

This plastic center bracket broke the first time I hit it with my knee after slowly tipping over in the snow while riding a fat bike. Notice how thin it is on the outside of the two screws. It's also a little tricky to set up so your Garmin doesn't stand at an angle. You need to tighten the central screw, which in turn turns it. Then screw the plastic bracket tight with two silver screws. You have to estimate how much it will turn when you tighten the stem bolt.

Pros
  • Feeling Good
Cons
  • Hard to say

Looked great but not done right.

Well I installed it on my Specialized Roubaix and it was great for the first few rides. Then I noticed that my fork was loose, this was more noticeable when using the front brake. So when I got home I tightened the main screw under this adapter cover and then tightened the cover back up. But the play in the fork column has not gone away. After studying the manufacture I found that the cone under the cap is too long and rests on the post and not the stem. So, to prove my theory, I put the…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

poor quality control; 1 of 2 insert screws not long enough to hook

Great concept but poor execution. Replace the stem cap with this and you can attach your Garmin computer. I first removed the plastic insert used to mount your Garmin computer to screw it onto the top of the stem. The final step is to reattach the plastic insert with 2 screws to secure the insert in the butt plate shell. Unfortunately 1 of the 2 screws did not hook. I tried moving the screws between the two holes. Vain. I was able to drive each of the screws into 2 holes WITHOUT the insert, so…
