Bought new, used in opened box

**WARNING** I purchased this power supply which was "Sold by: Revain.com Services LLC" but was used in an already opened box. The cables were randomly thrown (layed out) in the box and the power supply did not come in a felt bag. The paint had also chipped off from earlier screwing in. I can't add any pictures to this review for some reason.

I was lucky my GPU survived

For a while this PSU seemed good for my mini-ITX build. It had 3700x, 2080 Super, and a custom cycle that buzzed for months until I started getting blackouts on the GPU. After making sure all connections were restored and all my drivers were working, the only thing that got me back to anything more graphically intensive than moderate web surfing was a new power supply. This thing is a liability that allows your computer to keep chugging on with out-of-spec performance, putting your entire build

  • Cool product

Quiet and handles the load

I just had to buy an SFX power supply as I upgraded to Lian Li 011 Dynamic Mini. I didn't know before purchasing the case that it only accepts SFX form factor power supplies, I found out after I had most of my system already installed in the case. My build is an ATX Z390, i7-9700k oc'd @ 4.9GHz, an RTX-2080 and a couple of Corsair RGBs including an H115i cooler. So far this PSU handles the load well and is virtually silent, just like my old Corsair RM850 that I used for this build. I wasโ€ฆ

Received a defective SF600 board twice!

So I ordered this item a week ago and replaced my original power supply with this one. As soon as my computer booted up, I immediately knew something was wrong. After attempting to perform any task, there was a 20% chance that the computer would simply reboot without warning. Internet forums have shown that there is a 90% chance that this is a power problem. Went back and ordered another one thinking I was just unlucky. But this one was even worse! This time it wouldn't even let me log inโ€ฆ

Required means required

In short, you either need it for your build or you don't. If you have SFF, get that. I have a very small case so this is pretty much the worst case scenario for a power supply. This may be due to heat leakage from other components like my hot ASF 1070 FE, but from what I've seen Corsair prioritizes noise over heat dissipation. The thing gets quite hot, maybe around 50-70 C? I put my hand on the body where it was and it was quite hot. That being said, they're really your only option for an SFFโ€ฆ

Exceptional quality

I was thrilled to hear that Seasonic makes SFX power supplies for the SFFPC. But after reading the early reviews from several reputable reviewers, I was disappointed that Seasonic seemed to have rushed to market their SFX products. I was particularly struck by the relatively poor build quality inside the power supply, which I may be exaggerating a bit. How painstakingly and obsessively compulsively a typical factory worker spends time assembling a typical device, pouring love into the innardsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Low repairability

I love how small this thing is, it makes my miniITX build awesome. I'm using this in the CoolerMaster Elite 130 which supports full size ATX PSUs, but I want to use a smaller PSU to make room for the CPU cooler and the cable management is less claustrophobic. To use it instead of an ATX power supply I had to buy a SilverStone Technology ATX-SFX RL-PP08B universal power supply bracket. It would be great if this power supply already came with this bracket. I believe Silverstone includes it inโ€ฆ
