Bought this dehydrator and read all the instructions. I even called the company to confirm the instructions and make sure I did everything right. It had a strong chemical smell. Even after thorough cleaning and following the instructions exactly, it still smelled strongly of chemicals. I have a headache. I couldn't imagine supporting my family with anything that came out of it. I was disappointed. I wanted to love this product so much.

I really liked that the shelves fit in the dish rack on the countertop. I washed them, put them on a grid and dried them in a dehydrator. My candied citrus slices were worthless. Too much work on the recipe and I didn't want the simple syrup/sugar to sneak ants and bugs into the apartment (but in our tropical environment everyone has critters - ugh). I've only used it twice but it seems to work fine. I like that it is digital and programmable (time, temperature). I also like the transparent lid so I can see how everything looks at a glance (at least on the top tray). Haven't made anything that requires a thin mesh liner or fruit roll tray.
