Tool should slide into opening toward engine with the top of the tool engaging the teeth of the flywheel. Duramax 4500 / 5500 Trucks -- Use toothed pieces with screws remove the rubber inspection cap on the bottom of the transmission. We strongly encourage you to complete this work. It would be foolish not to have this part for the price you pay to make it at the store. Just do it yourself. BE PATIENT DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

  • Duramax 2500/3500 Pliers - Use only the serrated parts to remove the metal spring loaded control plate on the underside of the gearbox. The tool should be inserted into the hole toward the engine with the top of the tool engaging the flywheel teeth.

Required to remove the Duramax Harmonic Balancer.

This made it easier to remove the Harmonic Balancer. A 36mm 12 point socket will cost more than the entire kit if purchased locally. The flywheel holding tool is easy to use and works great. Among the best spending $15 tools!

Loosen and Tighten the Harmonic Balancer Screw on Duramax Trucks

This kit helped me remove a harmonic balancer from a 2006 Duramax. I replaced the water pump so anything that makes this job easier is helpful. I will probably never use these parts again and they are excellent quality for easy use.
