Arteza 10 x 10 Wooden Cradle Boards are by far the highest quality wood and end product. I use them to mount watercolors before waxing. I love the 1½" gallery style frame/profile which gives my work a professional quality. I plan to explore their other sizes for purchase. You really get great value for your money.

I will be doing acrylic painting on some and mixed media on others. I've just applied a coat of Golden GAC 100 to seal the wood and will, as usual, apply another coat before painting. I was impressed by how neat and clean the front and sides were when I received them. Photo already with sealant. I haven't painted them yet but they seem to be well built.

I'm one of the artists who made the transition from stretched canvas to this framed cardboard stock. This is a more expensive product than canvas but has many advantages and can be used on acrylic, ink and the newer alcohol based inks. It needs prep before painting and I have found that I need to apply Kilz Sealer and Stain Blocker first and then apply the Gesso finish. These birch wood painting surfaces are great for casting, I use a smaller product and they go from finishing to hanging easily

I have used Cradle canvases and Arches oil paper but with repeated use of the lower layers of what I had painted a day or two earlier with various scratches. Tools, once these layers have started to "set up", nothing I've tried compares to working on a wooden surface. While these panels are great for paintings I purchased these artist wood panels as part of a photo mosaic for my beloved Chihuahua who passed away in December. The fact that these panels can be used to draw or take photos on the so-called front of the panel by rotating it makes the perfect shadow block for photos or paintings.
