This is a master head

Reliable 1/2 master sockets, I use them every day at work and either lose them or they wear out so they replaced the lost one. It works like a deep socket.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • -

Great outlet! on Custom Drive Heads

Works very well, quality socket. As a professional, I used Craftsman tools almost exclusively. Without failures. Cheap sockets usually don't work well and can break or slip off during use.

Pros
  • Pretty Packaging
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

replaced one from a 30 year old set

I broke a 7/16 pick and wanted a similar replacement. The markings have changed over the years, but this one goes well with my set. Works like a socket. It appears to be the same design as my originals.

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

The only thing I needed is missing

The rubber insert is missing, maybe it fell out in transit and was thrown away, I'll never know, but even if it was crappy quality and defeats the whole purpose of the Power outlet. I'm right where I started, before I order it I'll go through it as before. Lesson learned.

Pros
  • Durable paintwork
Cons
  • Negative is present

Chinese master, 3/8 " drive, 5/8 " deep base.

I have had an old set of American deep hole sockets for over 40 years and I recently managed to lose a 5/8 inch socket. but all i could find is chinese.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Difficult to say

Replaced a lost outlet at a reasonable price

Went to the store - The cost of an outlet was very high. This allowed me to replace a lost outlet without feeling like I'd be better off buying a whole set. The quality is excellent. I prefer 6 point as they are less likely to round the nut/bolt under heavy loads.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons

Looks great. But time will tell

Haven't kept up with Craftsman in a few years but need a 3/8” 5/16” 6pt socket both flat and deep. Like all 5/16, "Master" has low torque. Cannot comment on alloys and heat treatments used; but the CNC work and electroplating looks fantastic. Also, the ad says "Made in China" but the plastic label on both outlets says "Taiwan".

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • packaging is ugly

This is a replacement socket

I removed the PTO on a mower with a breaker and my original Craftsman socket was split. I've had it for a few years and just ordered another one to have in my toolbox. I also ordered a standard length impact socket to have in my box for future high torque work. This socket was fine for general use, but don't use it for high torque requirements or an impact wrench. It's not made for that. Although a good product.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • I will add later

Works great for hand tools

Needed a 5/8 deep socket to replace the tube on a bike where the lug nuts had end caps that were too long for stock sockets - and I couldn't do them with one Remove tongs, took it for next day delivery and they came right away, ezpz lemon pomace. One of the reasons I chose this one (except for the next day) was that it has 6 pages instead of 12. This is good if you need to loosen a stuck nut, as a 6-point nut allows you to apply more torque with less risk of slipping, compared to a 12-point…

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • disappears
